Stores running out of Rem 3006 Bulletsssss? OK

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else had a hard time trying to find bullets lately? My buddy shot most of his 3006 bullets up sighting in last weekend and when he went to try and buy another box, he could not find any Rem 06 anywhere. He checked F/Farm, Gander, 2 Wally's, all said they were out and not going to be able to get more before Hunting next weekend. I also went and checked a Wally world by my house for him, nota! He told me that he had heard about a rumor on the Web that said the gov, was limiting ammo sales, so everyone has been buying everything up? I guess his wife did find one box for him some where and paid $31 a box. So just a word of advise if you didn't pick up eoungh bullets yet, you better start scrounging for them now! cry

I had time to kill in Mankato last week, they had quite a few Rem 3006 shells (thats what I shoot) in Scheels and GM. Alexandria had a good selection at FF the week before.

He may have to get out of the metro on the way up hunting and grab a box on the way.

Two Fleet Farms I checked were out of Remington Core-Lokt .270 150 grain. Department manager was not sure why they hadn't received shipment from Remington when the order had been submitted long ago. Said that it was doubtful they would receive more Remington in prior to deer opener. Didn't sound like it was a problem for any other brands though.

Gander had a lot of Remington 30-06 and .270 rounds available.

thats odd, if i've ever seen rifle shells on a shelf anywhere, be it big retailer, or up north gas station, it was always remington 30-06 bullets! maybe remington is slackin. if he "shot up all the rest of them sighting in", maybe look into a different brand. federal is my brand of choice for rifle ammo, but thats for a 7 mag.

Boy inthenorth, & vistor, now the post turns critical. Ya, Ok Bullets, rounds, loads, what ever. Thanks for your contribution to the correctness of the post! frown

Oh come on, just having a little fun...

I guess the guys I hunt with have conditioned me to give good natured ribbing every chance I get. Sorry if I offended you.

That said, I was serious when I said Remington 30.06 is on the shelves of most retailers in my area. You should be able to find something in the next week.

i think i read this in a field and stream, they said the cartridge companies are working around the clock pretty much to keep up with demand because of the fear Obama will have big guns laws etc. They said its mostly people stockpiling handgun amnmo but i have notice fleet farm not have near then rifle ammo they use to.

Obamas election helped spur a boost in sales of guns, especially pistols and semi-autos. It also overlapped into ammo, especially handload supplies such as primers. People are/where stockpiling, no doubt about it.
