I will say this Ol Rodgers threw for a ton of yards against our defense. That cannot continue if we are going to beat the better teams.

A LOT of those yards were gained against a Vikes prevent D. Pretty tough to say anything bad about the the team this week.

That was a fun game to watch.

If Lee catches that ball in the endzone on 4th down we're in OT right now, but he didn't and the rest is history. For how bad the Packer O-line played and how one sided the game felt, it still ended up being a close game.

D-line was horrible? Wonder what Peterson would say about that.... They shut him down. I'd guess that GB keyed on stopping Peterson and took the chance of letting the ol grey fox beat them through the air....and he did.

i haven't felt this giddy in years!! blush

Dont be jinxing the Vikes now. If you been a fan for more then this year, you will know there is no guarantee when the Vikes play bad teams!

Just a few of my own thoughts on the game last night:

1. Favre.........nuff said

2. Rodgers....very promising, ton of yards, but that Packers pretty much abandoned the running game from jump street. What was their first drive, like 9 passes and 1 rushing attempt?

3. Packers coaching needs some help? first of all, Kampman in coverage? Like Chucky was saying on TV last night, you got to get him rushing the passer. If their coaching staff can't figure that out, they should be shot.

4. Vikings Oline played the opposite of what they usually do. Run great, pass block crappy. Last night, run crappy and pass block great. They still need to get their stuff together if we are going to do deep. And someone please teach Sullivan to snap the ball to Favre with some mustard on it. When we are in the shotgun, sometimes I don't think the ball is going to make it to Favre.

5. Overall, great game to watch and can't wait for the rematch in Lambeau. The Vikings have some tough games ahead of them with the Ravens and Bears.....but if they keep going in the direction they are now, no doubt we are the Champs of the North again!!!!

Wow the cheeseheads sure are quiet today, lol!!!! That's all I have to add.

Isn't that to be expected?

If the score went the other way, there'd be a bunch of Vikes fans in here ripping their coach, ripping their players and grousing in general about the way their team played. You don't very often get numbers of Packers fans behaving that way in here after a loss.

I very much liked what I saw from Rodgers last night. Give him some excellent Oline protection and I think he could light things up. Maybe the real question is who goes down first, Rodgers or Favre. Favre partly because of age and Rodgers because of the beating he'll continue to take unless the Oline is shored up.

There is some truth to what you say Steve but we would be here doing the ripping and taking the heat from the Packer fans that would now be all over this thread had they won. Many of us have been around long enough to see the pattern here is that there are about 3 Packer fans who are here frequently regardless of the year the Pack have and about 20 that only show up when they are getting the better of the Vikings.

It was a great game to watch between two QB's having great games. The difference is one QB was getting protection and help from his special teams and defense so he didn't have to do it all. The other guy got no protection, no help and was made one dimensional with a game plan that turned into pass, pass, pass.

During the game I would say "yes you do". After the game I would agree with Steve from experiences with friends who are GB fans.

Lets face it, Green Bay fans have not had much to gripe about after most games the last 16 years and even after the seasons had ended grin

For Vike's fans it is a total different story wink

That must have been all they worked on during practice last week. A huge night and day difference from the last three games as far as letting Favre not get touched.

The hang time Favre had in the pocket towards the end of the game was crazy long cool . Almost unreal protection. Have not seen a Vikings QB go that long without running or getting his lights knocked out in years.

I give last nights game to the OL wink Do not get me wrong, Allen was awesome and the sacks where handed out like cigars at a poker game, but the "V.D." did have their moments at times. I will give it to the Vikings D though, best game for them all season so far.

The D was iffy at times, The game ball goes to #4 hands down. He put the ball on the mark time after time, the line did there job, but it was the play by Favre that put them on top.

Rogers is definitely an elite QB, if he was in purple he'd be like superman or something grin

I like calling out the cheeseheads on the forum, I gotta kick 'em while their down, if they some how pulled out a W last night we'd never here the end of it.

Points taken, and I agree completely with your assessment in the second paragraph.

Rodgers has great tools and could become one of the best. Gee, I wonder what the priority will be for Packers personnel in the coming year or two? Would be a shame for him to get beaten to pieces before he even comes into his own.

I was getting a little sick to my stomach by the commentators continually p’ing all over themselves talking about #4.

Did you all realize he’s going to be 40 this weekend?

Did you he’s the only guy to beat every team in the league?

Did you know he acts like a kid in a grown up body?

Did you know his wife had cancer?

Did you know he likes to call audibles?

I learned all that about 7 times last night.

The guy loves the game and can flat out play and one of the best ever. Nuff said.

Quite right, Darren!

It's gotten to the point that a regular season game is so full of hype and inane commentator chatter (and Monday Night Football is worse yet) that I always mute the TV during commercials, halftime and those times between plays when some hairsprayed Daffy Duck inevitably delivers a hackneyed observation as though it's profound.
