JBMasterAngler
I'm calling it quits for bass fishing this year. I wanted to make it out a couple more times to places like prior and minnetonka, but this weather just plain sucks! I might get out a couple more times for some trout fishing, but now I'm pretty much in "wait for the ice" mode. Only 236 days until the bass opener

mww24
hey jb. i caught the biggest bass of my life last nite. if i can figure out how to get pics from my phone to computer ill post it. wish i were fishin. i caught 5 yesterday in about 4 hours from 3 pm to 7 pm. i caught 2 in about 5 feet of water over millfoil. one on a lipless crank. the other on a spinnerbait. then i caught the next 2 in about a foot of water in a transition area where there was sand with patches of weeds. i just casted this shallow flat with a spinnerbait and caught 2 more. then i caught a monster on the spinnerbait again. this one was in 8 feet of water in some weeds. it hit on the fall. my key was i used a big spinnerbait with a long willow blade. and i reeled extremely slow. just enough to turn the blade. when i felt it hit weeds i would rip it free and then let it fall to the bottom then start reeling. they would it on that fall after the rip or right when i started reeling. g_anoka
Even though the weather wasn't that nice, I was able to catch some decent bass this weekend. So don't put that boat away quite yet.
JBMasterAngler
I really do appreciate the enthusiasm you guys have at keeping me after the bass. As said before, I plan to fish for some trout yet, at square lake...maybe I can get some bass out of there if the trout aren't biting. Anyone ever fish bass there? JBMasterAngler
I just looked at the 10 day forecast...that didn't do me any favors.
Rick G
I get some of my best days of fishing up untill the access is too iced over to get a boat in. Lets hope the weather warms at least a little for the second half the month. A little less rain and wind woul be nice too but I might be asking for too much all at once. Wish-I-Were-Fishn
Might as well be frozen over. Sure no fun out there. If it's not fun, it's not for me.
