chub
Haven't seen a Teal around here since Sunday, though I would imagine there's still a few. Just alot less. Quite a few Wood Ducks and little else.Looks like it's shaping up to be the normal lackluster opener. I'll start getting excited in about 2-3 weeks. Musky Buck
Read the Sunday star and trib. and you can get a 15 year old report, spotty, fair in some areas, and the usual the recent cold snap may be part of the reason for a poor opener as it likely pushed many birds out of the state, at least it seems that is the report I've been reading for many moons after opener. But, we must go give it a go and who knows maybe the birds will be around, although the refuge I hunt by had 11 ducks on it and 300 honkers approx by my count on Wednesday. Either way, good luck and be safe.
broken_line
anyone seeing teal in the northern parts of the state yet??
paceman
I am still seeing lots of birds around D.L. Teal, woodies, mallards, geese... Lots of water around. I drove by a recently combined bean field this afternoon that had about 500 geese on it and a pile of ducks as well....
TrophyEyes
Anyone seeing anything over by Morris, Benson, or willmar?
RaininFeathers
I think the northern part of the state is clean out of blues. The green wings might show up they migrate a bit later. Four weeks ago during early goose lots of BW teal up north two weeks ago saw six in the same area. With the cold weather as of late I wouldn't count on em. Better hope the reports of necks up north is true in your area.
bmc
I scouted around the Deer River area yesterday and it doesn't look good. I only saw 2 woodies and a dozen geese. I think this cold front pushed alot of woodies and teal south.I'm planning on running a goose spread w/ a few ducks to the side. Seems to be a decent amount of geese around the last week or so.Brian
