You should really think a little bit about what you're doing before giving specific reports like this on such a small lake...

Specific report? I sure hope you were being sarcastic. I'm thinking the guys over at M1st are really rubbing off on you. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy M1st, but the atmosphere is a little more relaxed around here when it comes to muskies and specifics.

So what if I give a specicific spot on a larger lake?

Specific is saying Lake Waconia, Kegs Reef, Straight Model Depth Raider in Walleye pattern, boat in 16' of water at Mid day, north north/west wind while working a drift. And yes this did put a fish in the boat for me.

Iceman keep at it, you'll put one in the boat.

The post was to actually help iceman, but you guys sure picked up on that...keep up the specifics, just wait for the stampede, i've seen it too many times. Even specifics aren't such a big deal, but eagle is a small lake, you can have a much bigger effect on it than something like a reef on waconia.

14 parking spots on Eagle = 15.7 acres per boat

Approx 40 spots on Waconia = 77 acres per boat

I think if I fan cast a circle I can darn near cover 15 acres without moving much.

14 FULL parking spaces = 0% chance of iceman getting into a muskie.

14 spaces will be FULL if people read about a 4 fish night on a particular lake.

If you want examples see Holy Name Lake and the walleyes a couple winters ago or Waconia and the crappie bumper-boats in the Spring last year.

Is this pool 2 you're fishing or further north? If you don't want to post it but will email I'm at [email protected]

Thanks

no not pool2. there aint no muskies in that pool what so ever. heck theres hardly any fish in MY river...er..that river.. anyway. steer clear.

this is one of the nicest things about a river. i never feel like i can't tell this stuff. (i know why it's done in lakes)theres a lot of water in there i'll tell you that for sure. yes pool 2 and basicly, completely, any pool you choose to go fish, down lake pepins way you better watch your toes dangling theres so many. on pool 2 just fish every eddy you see to start untill you learn the river and become a river rat. then you'll see even more fish. fishing rivers is almost cult like. either your in or your out. everthing changes every day sometimes and that can get frustrating. most run back to lakes screaming in a short time. but, the ones who stay a season or two, i never see leave, ever. 2 years? sheesh, about time.

fish the croix in a littler boat around the boomsite launch down just past stillwater and up to the checkpoint at the highbridge. untill you get a feel for rivers. that's my advice. and yes there's eddies and bays and islands and points and man made structure and rock faces and underwater cliffs and log jams and stream inlets and thousands and thousands of cold water springs some under water, and weed beds and lilly pads and funnels and mud flats and sand bars and rock bars and rocky shores and under water points coming off those cliffs and sand flats and gravel flats and underwater islands andcut banks and on and on and on and soooooo many more productive places to fish. just in about a 5 mile stretch. oh, yeah, and theres muskie eating there too. why would anyone choose to leave?

A human can only realistically cast to 2 acres of water from any 1 spot, and that's with really long casts. At any given time the odds that a muskie is within casting range is only about 33% for a typical lake.

i hardly think bald eagle is any type of secret.I never have had the lake to myself and have caught quite a few behind other fisherman.

I wont give spots and most of the time i wont even give a lake name. But i am not going to give someone a hard time for sharing their experience on the water when they didnt give any information anyway. Whats the point of this forum if it isnt to offer a helping hand.

i have put in countless hours on that lake this year. i never gave out spots, what i was using or how i was using it. i just said they got two skis. what would you say if i said they caught two on lake X using this or that on this reef using this. i am just here to tell you what i saw and what kind of night i had. those were the first fish i have seen caught on this lake this year. not giving secrets away. i have seen plenty of other posts here saying i was on lake X using this and either caught or didnt catch anything. im not trying to start anything just defending myself.

Anyways, keep it up iceman, 2 fish tonight, and 2 hot follows in about 2hrs due to ladies timer. One of those guys must of been close to 50. Just would not commit to the 8. O'well, they'll be there another night. Caught a dinker mid 30's, didn't even measure on the crank. Bigger one came from suga momma. First night out for her and bagged her first ever ski on a dinky figure 8 too. 45.5" with some rough marks. Will post a pic as soon as I convert from raw to jpg. Little windy tonight but that south wind set up some points perfectly. Fished 10Ft or less with some vegatation. Worked fast and kept moving.

JRedig is right on this one...it's 11:28 at night and there are 43 people viewing this forum. As a matter of fact, I haven't seen anytime this forum has been below 20 viewing at any part of the day. The pressure is mounting for our sport, and the internet is a dangerous place to post about small lake success, regardless of how specific you get.

And I'm sure JRedig never meant any offense, just trying to help out. The internet can be an incredible tool, but it can turn on you just as fast. Just be cautious.

Metro lake tonight, 2 follows, 1 nipping at the bait, still can't believe it didn't go. Would've been upper 40's easy...oh well, got her zip code!

Still kind of amazed at how "usual" spots for me haven't been producing this year even with the fantastic "muskie" weather we had on a day like today. Oh well that's the fun, figuring it out.

I would have to disagree. The metro area is hammered pretty much on a daily basis on most every lake. Like I stated earlier being in the right place at the right time is key. One day one lake can be on fire, the next it sucks. Doesn't really matter what might be posted as the bite from day to day can differ exponentially. Sure , someone might catch X amount of Muskies on Lake X one day utilizing a certain technique.....Does not mean some internet hot spot scroungers are going to pull off the same thing the next day, although they may try. After all folks, it is Muskie fishing and many times we are at the mercy of a stupid fish that graces us with it's appearance every once in a while.
