mainbutter
I've caught a few, make decent catfish cut bait when I've not been able to find suckers or bullheads.
Brownie77
Anyone ever eat them? they are actualy pretty good. very firm white meat, that one DTRO is holding would taste like mud, but the small ones are good.

DTro
I think that one was about 34 or 36” and around 18lbs. John (wastewaterguru) caught that one a fairly large bullhead while catfishing on the MN I think Pierbridge has a picture of an even bigger one. fishuhalik
Geez, I didn't know they got that big. I thought they maxed out around 8-9lbs
andrew chadwick
a random fact, but do you know that drum are one if not the only native fish to eat zebra muscles.
Roman_K
I was shore fishing the river a while ago and saw a guy pull up the biggest drum I have ever seen. He let me take a picture of him w/ the fish... Doesnt seem that big any more now that I've seen wastewaterguru's fish but still bigger than average

fishuhalik
I was curious, so I looked up the state record. After looking at the drum I looked at some other records. We really do live in a fishing paradise in MN. http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/fishing/staterecords.htmlA couple of the records did surprise me, though. Namely warmouth and white bass. The record is only 18.5". It seems I see pics of 18-20" white bass on FM every year. And I've caught several warmouth over 9", the record is only 7.5". CarpKing921
If I remember right the state record was on display at the science museum and still might be something like 35 lbs. That thing is a pig. Personal best is around 7lb

MinnesnowtaWild
Perfect Catfish bait (if in Wisconsin of course ). Oh and a 12 lb Drum is not "only" a 12 lber...that's a big fish!
Ralph Wiggum
Are you sure that's a greenie? It's not shaped like any green sunfish I've ever seen, of course I have never seen one that big. That's a nice sunnie, no matter which species.
