Clamcorp Customer Service

This ice season I fished out of a Clam 5600 and was very happy with it. The majority of the time it was hauled out by hand onto some smaller metro lakes and in the truck on larger lakes, but when I went to Burntside to chase lakers, it was hauled behind a snowmobile. On that particular trip the 5600 took a little bit of a beating (nothing serious, but the snow was deep and slushy in spots). Long story short, I ended up breaking a couple of vital pieces on the house.

On Saturday I decided to air out the house and put it away for the year (return it to DaChise who was very generous to let me have it for the winter) and saw the broken pieces. I went to Clams HSOforum to order them but couldn't find them listed in the parts section. A quick email inquiring about them was returned today saying that they would put a couple in the mail for me as they were not on the HSOforum for purchase.

In this day and age, with money being tight for a lot of people, customer service like this is what keeps me going back for future purchases.

You had a better experience then me. I had a new X2 and it is ripping at the seams. Because I don't have a receipt they won't replace it for me. I have only used it 5 times. They did offer to sell one for half the cost but money is tight all over. Apparently at Clam also. Sounds like a few people have had problems with the seams. You would think they would do the right thing to fix the problem but there isn't a problem with them I guess.

i bought one that had tiny holes in it...looked like little holes a bug would make...it was like that right out of the box..they told me to take pics and send them over to them...i took pics and they got back to me and said its not their fault and sent me a couple patches lol.

They get 4 stars in my book also. Had a couple spots in the fabric with some small holes, sent them some pics and in a couple weeks received a brand new canvas for my Voyeageur. Still have it in the box. Waiting for this one to wear out then will replace it with the new one.

My problem was with the poles for the porch that had the holes drilled on the side rather than the top. I wrote an e-mail and the lady responded and said she'd send out new ones. I suspect that they knew of the goof up and it was the kind of thing you'd find right as you were trying to put it together. I never showed a thing.

Good practice is to set up a filing system. Tape the receipt to the owners/instruction manual, note on the front when you bought it, where and for how much and you're good to go even for insurance purposes. Not a bad idea to put together a home inventory as well.

I made up a lighting system for my 5600 when I had it and needed some pole clips to make it work, called them and told them what I needed and 2 days later they sent them to me, free of charge. That was last year, but after that I have nothing but good things to say about them.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
