Profishing supply is da BOMB!!!!

Recommended Posts

Have you ever wanted to do some upgrading to your electronics, or get some electronics for the first time, but just didn't know what's out there, or what to get??? That's the situation I was in. I thought I kinda sorta in a way knew what I wanted but, by admission, just didn't have the knowledge in marine electronics to make a good decision. Let's face it, times are a little tough and the last thing I wanted to do is spend big money on something that just wasn't the perfect fit for me.

I contacted Dave at Profishing Supply, told him in a round about way what I was looking for, and holy cow did the information start flowing my way. I'm not talking the salesman "Buy this brand" information. I'm talking the serious pros and cons of everything out there. I'm guessing about a dozen e-mails and phone calls were exchanged. Asking questions, answering questions, and just sharing great info. He wanted to know where/why/what/who......the whole gambit of my fishing before he started making recommendations. I can easily say that I thought I kind of knew what I wanted until I talked to Dave. Turns out that if I would have bought what I thought I wanted I would have been disappointed. Dave steered me down the right path and gave me the true and honest info I needed to make the right choice, and I couldn't be happier.

You're going to be hard pressed to find better service and get the real honest answers to your hard hitting questions than you will get from Dave. And the prices???? I can very easily say I got twice the equipment performance for less cost than what I was initially looking at. You can try to find equipment at a lower price, but good luck with that one.

If you're thinking about some equipment for your boat, or some ice fishing, give Dave a look at Profishing Supply. You'll be glad you did. I know if and when I'm in the market for more stuff Dave will be getting phone call from me.

His knowledge of electronics goes beyond words as well. If anyone is looking for electronics or trolling motors, you need to check Pro Fishing Supply out.

Hope all is well with you and family. I'll shoot you an e-mail this week. Take Care!!!

I couldn't agree more. I got my New Lowrance H2O Color with my lakemaster chip from Dave. I wasn't quite sure which GPS I wanted and which of the chips on the market was best for me, but with a few emails and a phone call I had it all put together.

Great price, great service, great guy!!

I also have been very happy with Dave. I havve purchased a number of items and have more to get this spring like a trolling moter and a on board charger. I know what trolling motor to get but I will need his help with witch charger to get and I know he will let me know what one is best suited for my needs.

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
