This is a great subject. I have no doubt that some "noises" spook fish. I have also no doubt that some "vibrations" (that is all that sound is) attract fish. Just look at all the lures these days that vibrate.

I have fished walleye over 6-9' of water with rock and roll playing relatively loud (nobody around to bother) and caught one after another. These fish just have to be aware of the noise (vibration). When the boat is out of the water the hull vibrates extremely even with the volume relatively low.

Earlier this winter I was fishing crappies. They were quite slow. Due to the fact that my wheeler was starting hard and it was below zero out I started it up to keep it warm. Within minutes my flasher lit up and I started catching fish. In a bit I shut off my wheeler. Within minutes my flasher went blank and it stayed that way. I thought it was just coincidence. Half hour later I started it again. Within minutes the flasher was lit up again. I caught the remainder of my limit. I shut off the machine while I packed up. Again the flasher went blank within minutes. I haven't been able to replicate it due to the fact I started driving my truck. I really believe there was something to that wheeler idling on the ice.

I have seen on commercials and in magazines where they actually make electronics that you can load sounds on that attract fish. They must study what sounds bait and other things make and study what affect it has on different species of fish. I thought it was kind of interesting.
