Cyberfish
Megamiler: A new term by Michael thompson for anyone who can get over 300,000 miles in any vehicle. I joined the megamiler club today with my 98 Villager van, whoohooo!
Scott K
Wow, a Villager made it that far , very nice! Did you put all of the miles on it? One owner?

zamboni
I flipped 100,000 on my 83 Park Ave yesterday. I kinda got a little tear in my eye, I can no longer say "she doesn't even have a 100,000 miles on her yet"

MNice
Nice job!! Our 98 bonniville has 252,000, 01 silverado 171,000, 03 rendezvous only 133,000.
Jeremy airjer W
I think it would be more fun to see a cost per mile. Adding up all the repairs to get them to that mark. With that being said a guy I work with owns my old tacoma. 187k and it finally needed a set of wires. only because the after market cruise cable rubbed through one of the wires. other than the standard maintenance (fluid changes, tires, brakes, etc) it has had 2 sets of spark plugs, 4 shocks, 1 fuel filter, and a starter. Everything else on the truck is original equipment, EVERYTHING!My 88 honda prelude had 265k when I sold it to a friend of mine who drove it for about a year and sold it to a friend of his. That had a t-belt, struts, 2 drive axles, cap/rotor/wires & plugs, and an alternator.
crothmeier
My '97 silverado is at 224,500 miles. I should be able to reach 300,000 with it, she just got a fuel pump and a water pump.
jltimm
Quote:I think it would be more fun to see a cost per mile. Adding up all the repairs to get them to that mark.Isn't that the truth! What's gone into a vehicle with high miles? Anyone can get alot of miles out of a vehicle, but at what cost, and how they treat them. Cyberfish
I have no major repair expenses in the van, just regular oil changes and minor mantenance stuff. It was hit last spring by a large pickup for 4000 damage if i got it fixed at a body shop. I had it totaled, bought it back and taped it together with duct tape, still driving it 200 + a day. Oh yeah, it still has the original spark plugs in it. took it in for a tuneup at 180,00 miles and the tech said they never were changed and he wouldn't do it because they were frozen in and could break or strip the threads, so in they stayed! It still runs great, and I get over 25 mpg too
river-rat4
I don't buy it, MT. Deduct the miles that the tires spun, on the BSL launch. I bet a few hundred (Thousand), bare minimum. I know the guy that.... You put on many miles...ha...river-rat4

Cyberfish
Well it wouldn't start last week. we couldnt figure out what it was, I thought mabye this was the end of the road for the megamiler. Finally found it was the timing belt broke. over 300 k not bad for a belt eh? but he offered to fix it really cheap, so now its running better than ever!
