Bigguyone
I have a pond near my house that has some largemouth in it and it is opening up enough to fish (ice coming off) but I wanted to get some input from you guys about techniques to try when the largies are letharic early in the year - water is 38 degrees...maybe up to 40 by saturday...Please let me know what techniques you would recommend - can sight fish a little. My buddy went out and said it seemed with a senko they would come up, investigate and swim away slowly. Thank you in advance for your input on how I can coax these babies into doin' a little feedin'...on my hook.
TonkaBass
you could try a suspending jerkbait. Try it with long pauses.
Bigguyone
ok - I planned to try a slow tube, suspending jerk bait, jig with trailers (slow), senko and a very slow rolled oversize blade spinnerbaitthe more feedback the better! Please keep puttin in your wisdom
Superduty
Where are you located? The bass season is closed in most of MN.
JimBuck
As SuperDuty suggested....the bass season is closed in most of Minnesota. If season is open in your neck of the woods, I suggest throwing some weightless plastics...long pauses.
Nick Kuhn
Last year after ice out I was catching a few accidently throwing crappie sized tubes and inline spinners (size 0 Mepps). These were small fish though in amongst the crappies. All presentations were as slow as I could keep them off the bottom.

jwhjr
lucky....fishing for BASS! No doubt. I've been getting the itch this year even earlier than usual to hit the open water for some bass.
EBass
Senko fished wacky very very slow. Small bitsy bug jig with craw like trailer again fished slow. Maybe even a single colorado blade spinnerbait slow rolled unless utah bass don't like colorado:)
