Rocky Blizzard or Lacrosse Iceman

Sorry to stir the pot and throw in another choice. Alaskan boots. The old air force boot. Little bulky. Don't know what frozen feet are. First pair only lasted about 30 years.

You mean the Bunny boot right? I have thought about them also, just wish I could try a pair on somewhere. I think they would be a bit heavy for them longer walks, although I hear that my feet would never get cold, and, they are very waterproof.

Where can I find a pair of Iceman on sale? I've had mine for over 15 years, finally wore out. I hope they still make 'em the same. Best boots ever, never believed a pair a boots could last this long.

Gand er has the Iceman on sale for 69.00 down here in Roch. I suppose all metro stores would be the same..... but will they have your size? Just call around.

I have 2 pair of Ice Kings and they are warmer than my old Icemans. I have had 1 pair for over 12 years and they still work great. I seal all my boots yearly with Sno-Seal and a spray for the mesh. Im on my 3rd liner on my old pair and I got a new pair 6 years ago when Gander was clearing them out and those are in brand new condition.

If you can spair the change go ice kings over any other pack boot. Get them 1 or 2 sizes bigger so you have plenty of toe moving room. A good wicker sock and a good wool blend sock like smart wool and your golden.

I have owned both. Something to consider is the toe of each boot. You will be busting old ice holes, drilling holes and kicking slush out of the way, etc... I believe the rocky boots

have a better and stronger toe design. I would choose rockys.

And always remember no cotton socks. A polypropelene liner then a wool sock.

Read through the posts and you can easily deduct that the best money spent between the two is the Icemans without question. They will last a LONG time! I purchased mine when Lacrosse first introduced them 20+ yrs ago. The soles are just now starting to show some wear. The tradeoff for warmth is they are a little clumsy for lots of walking (although I have many miles on mine). Now a days I use a pair of 400gr. or 1000gr. hunting boots if I plan on hiking alot. Someone asked about waterproof. I snoseal mine regularly and I've tromped through many swamps over 20+ yrs with zero leakage.

There are certainly other models & brands that may be warmer(clumsier) but with the exception of Bunny Boots, nothing else will be anywhere near $69!

I have been wearing the same old pair of Ice Man boots for years. Maybe they are Ice Kings ?

I purchased them in Michigan and am pretty sure they are well over twenty years old. I wear them in the tree stand and wear them on the lakes ice fishing at least once a week so they have a ton of miles on them.

Hate to be a cheap a$$ but I have never replaced the felts in fact I have one lace that has looked like it is going to break for the last three years. The only reason I have not replaced it is I kinda want to see how many years of service I can get out of them with no repairs.

I would buy a pair and if they wear out in twenty five years then try the Rocky's.

Cabela's has their Predator Extreme boots on sale now. I don't know what the sale price is for the Rocky's or LaCrosse boots but if the price is close to what the Predator's are going for you may want to consider a pair of those boots. 1,200 grams of Thinsulate and a 9 mm Texel liner make these the warmest boots I have ever had.

Hookey, I was wondering if people knew if they had Iceman or IceKings also. I think Iceman are black and IceKings are brown with leather and material in the middle on the sides, and the liners are not felt but almost kind of a foam. I've had mine for years and have been out sleding and fishing way below Zero and never even a cold toe! smile

I have a pair of LaCrosse Extreme PFT's and they are the warmest boots I have ever had. Deffinetly agree that removable liner is key for warm, dry boots.

I wouldn't use a liner boot for lots of walking, but they are great for sitting on the ice all day. Most of the time I just wear a polypro liner in mine.

I have the rocky's and they have always been comfortable and kept my feet dry. With good socks my feet have never been cold. Good boots are a must so don't spend too much time debating and miss out.
