Glow Jigs

Anyone have a good brand of Glow Jig thay they reccommend? I bought a ton of the Northland stuff, and some Lindy stuff and it all seems to glow for about 10 seconds then it fizzles out. Reccommendations are appreciated.

Those brands all last longer than that for me usually. What are you charging them with? I use a cheap flasher or led light or a tazer from I believe LIndy. Others that come to mind are Demons by custum jigs and spins, plain old moon glows, and I have good luck also with Shrimpos from custom jigs also, the head glows and so does the body on these, and they work awesome for crappies, and the last one that really sticks in my mind is the Forage Minnow by Northland.

thats what i thought also, but bring your tackle in a dark room and turn the lights off and see how long they glow. I was fishing with a friend a few years ago up at LOW and he keeped saying that his jigs dont glow long. well that night sitting in the cabing I seen his tackle box was on the table so I hit the light switch and box glowed for about 20 minits. he couldn't believe it.

I use a camera style flash sold for charging the jigs and such. I did get some of the OutdoorProStore ones with the flashers attached where you tie on the line......VERY NICE! Thanks for all input I have a box full but I am gonna try sdome new stuff.....time to head to Madison Lake.

I have seen no extra draw on my battery. They aren't on all that much. I like them because you just dangle your lure there and use your foot to light it up. No fumbling for your light or nothing. Always there and always charged. Great guy to deal with as well. I have one on my vex, marcum and lowrance.

And, no constant buying of 4 AA batteries for my camera flash!

My only other question is, would the softpack on my Marcum interfere with the mounting of this? You mentioned that you have one on your Marcum...which Marcum do you have?

Doesn't interfer at all. I have the LX-5 and FL-8. What you do is take one of the screws in the side that hold them to the mount out of the flasher. Poke and find where that hole is on the outside of the bag and mark it with a pen. I then heated up a screwdriver with a lighter. Just a little push and it goes right through. I did another hole next to that to put the wiring through that goes to the battery (the wires will connect to the battery and then have posts on them for your flasher to plug into). Once that's done, push your wires through and then screw the light in where the knob was. Done, working well and you won't see the holes at all.

We have seen great success from all of the mentioned lures "neon from prostore" "lindy" "maynards" etc. Try a better light source and you will be suprised at the brighter and longer glow. Thanks for the compliments fellow FM team. Hope to see you on the ICE. -Dan and Randy

I talked to one tackle manufacturer about this years ago and he said " The good paint is out there but no one will spend the money to put it into production". The fear is that no one would buy the product at the price to produce it.

There does exist paint that will glow for 10 min+

I actually got my buddies new light and the glow paint on Monday afternoon and was very impressed with the brightness and length of the glow paint and I have used alot of the over the counter stuff, but this seems much brighter. I have been painting alot of my jigs that didnt glow with it and it works pretty slick.. It might be what you were looking for smeese.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
