Pretty cool Hole Hoppers...

Recommended Posts

That contraption has a STRICT purpose...NAIFC!!!

I give kudos to the inventors and their ability to modify their style of fishing. As far as myself using one...I would give it a shot as long as I didn't have to put my LX-5 or FL-18 in it laugh

I hope they do well selling them. As far as stupid or useless...I know people that are all of that wink

Kind of a to each his own! Lot's of people thought the Wright brothers fell off there rockers also.

Your absolutey Wright:) partner... laugh Like flashers and the modern ice fishing revolution, things change and manufacturers change and provide better products. A clear example in this scenario regarding mobility is purpose, intent and flexability.

For years we rip holes grab a rod and scoop and walk from hole to hole with flasher in hand and it's been great and continues to be a very effective way to move. Fishing tournaments like the NAIFC and staying efficient and in the hole as much as possible your faced with time constraints and keeping your fish alive. Running back and forth to your fish trap bucket, wastes time and makes you less efficient while fishing these tournaments. The Sonic Ice Hopper gives you the ultimate in efficiency so you can stay in that "Hot" hole longer with less traffic on top of pressured shallow water fish, less movement on top will help you.

The designers have come up with a safe way to transport your sonar and protect your transducer with the plastic mesh well. As in any new product it's evolving with more and more innovations. Break down is simple as well. You can break it down and put the entire assembly inside the bucket in seconds, along with rod holders, scoop and auger you are the ultimate in lightweight flasher fishing. Early ice and late ice this system will catch on..

We are inundated with deep snow in central New York and if your a walker like most of us are it makes sense. I know that there are days when fishing in your trap is the only resort, weather and high winds but having another option to be more efficient is a good thing.

The Sonic Ice Hopper gives you that versatility and I am happy to say that I stand behind this product. Your Bobbers Down has them available on there web site. I am 6' tall and would recommend the XL hopper and a 6 gallon bucket and there is a Sport model for shorter fisherman as well.

I have been playing with a slotted seat for sliding fish in the bucket and bought one of those $12 HT Foam seats that sit on top of a bucket and let me tell you I would not recommend this seat for anyone over 200 pds, mine split the first day I used it. I am modifying the HT seat as we speak with 1" plywood instead of the 3/8" plywood that these seats come standard with.

Here's another good scenario where I would have liked the Sonic Ice Hopper, walking and walleye fishing. Frank and I know how bad Lewis Point can get with slush build up and hard travel with machines. That day fishing for eyes I would have loved to have this set-up. Dragging my fish trap through all that snow and slush I felt like I was gonna have a heart attack and it would have been so much easier carry my Sonic Ice Hopper and my hand auger.

If you fish with a flasher and can't afford a fish trap style house or just like being outdoors while fishing and enjoying your surroundings this unit is the most efficient of it's time.

The price is right as far as value and the support structure for your flasher and battery are simple, strong and super light weight.

Tuzzy took some pictures of some modifications for the battery compartment and the power cord cabeling on his Sonic Ice Hopper. Well done Tuzzy!

Battery compartment - drilled and fastened, #10 stainless screw/fender washer over strap inside secured with locking nut.

Drilled 1/2" hole for 1/2" rubber grommet for power cord connection from head to battery compartment.

These modifications were designed to have a full lid instead of a cut-out like mine...

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
