grab the net
Our Fall Brawl is a get together we have been having the last few years. Big fish of the day eats for free off the other guys that night. Even with your swirls in the smallie pictures, I am pretty sure where you were on some of those pics you posted KT. How did you do on Saturday, saw your truck at the access. Big fish for Friday night was a 5.92, big fish saturday was a 6lb 2oz, big fish Sunday morning was 5lbs 9oz. Totals for the weekend were one over 6, Seven over 5, twenty two over 4. Several others were caught. Perfect weather and a great Fall Brawl. Probaly what all the others will be measured against in years to come.
kt
Saturday was ok, not nearly as good as the previous weekends. Ended up with between 25 and 30 in about 4 hours. Got some off of all our spots that we tried but no really huge groups like the previous weeks. A lot of pressure out there too. Biggest smallie was in the 4 lb range. Fished largemouth on sunday and we struggled. Fished a lake up in your neck of the woods for a couple hours and only got 4 with the biggest being only 3 lbs. Also fished a couple lakes around my area and did ok 15-20 on each but again no pigs. Biggest on each was in the 3.5-4 lb range. I've been fishing smallies so much that i haven't spent nearly enough time after the largies. Might have to do that this weekend, we'll see. If im after largies i will definitely be up in your area this weekend. Did you get your fish shallow or on flats. The smallies have been holding a little deeper so far and i think we spent too much time fishing too deep for the largemouth this weekend.
MegaHawk
kg2, stay off my lake! lol when were you down there? shoot me an email please. [email protected]
grab the net
This past weekend was shallow. My 6-2 was in maybe 2 fow. Waiting for the water temps to drop some and move them out to the edges of the coontail flats. Yea, that lake was covered up for smallies on saturday. We did Ok, biggest smallie was around 3-10, rest were 2 to 2-12. They still jump though. Saw that somebody had a get together on Pelican by Ashby on Sunday, maybe 8-10 bass boats at the landing. Recognized a few trucks and trailers. Don't know how they did. North Star Club out of Fergus had a lunker hunt on Sunday and struggled, big fish just over four, they normally put up some big fish and numbers. kt
Were you fishing the lake you were on on opener weekend? I haven't been out there since then. How did you do numbers wise on the smallies? They have been gettin hit pretty hard the last couple weeks. If we get some cool weather it should get them going hot again. The bite for them has gotten worse as the water temp has started to climb again. Have you been up on that catch and release lake at all this fall? If the weather cooperates this weekend i might have to make an all day excursion up your way for some largies.
grab the net
We actually did most our damage up closer to Detroit Lakes, Northern Ottertail Co. grab the net
The one with smallies or the one with just largemouth in it. If your talking the LM lake, yes and it has not been very good for me. I think once the water cools it will be lights out again, but the last couple trips there, it has had my number.

grab the net
Sunday morning - jigs in 4-6 ft of water. About 20 fish between the two of us. Fish go - 6-2 biggest and the other three over five. Best five would have gone over just over 26.
