Sidney Rice confirmed that the knee injury that derailed his 2008 season is no longer an issue.

Three weeks after saying his knee was not yet 100 percent, Rice took part in every drill at minicamp. Rice will participate in upcoming OTAs and then spend the time before training camp building up leg strength.

Percy Harvin was reportedly "the story of the weekend" at Vikings minicamp.

As beat writer Chip Scoggins put it: "It doesn't take a football genius to see that he is a special talent." Scoggins added that Harvin "definitely created a buzz amongst players, team personnel and media members with his versatility and playmaking."

Coach Brad Childress indicated that there was little separation between QB contenders Sage Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson at the Vikings' May minicamp.

Childress said both "had bright moments," so the competition will continue evenly into June. The locker room's confidence in Jackson seems to be waning and Rosenfels has the bigger contract, so we'd expect the latter to win.

According to Charley Walters of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, there is "buzz" that the Vikings are pursuing free agent Marvin Harrison.

Walters essentially writes a gossip column and puts this under the heading "Don't Print This," so it obviously has to be taken with a grain of salt. He says Marvin would get "a one-year, low-end deal" to compete with Sidney Rice at flanker. The signing would make a lot of sense, but it isn't a reliable source. Jun. 25 - 10:04 am et

marv is awesome...he would be the perfect possesion reciever for us...we'll have berrian, marv, and percy out there...sometimes lined up with rice or wade and favre throwing them the ball wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

There's a reason he's still unemployed right now. He's got little left to offer and a worse attitude. We're better off without him. It's not the same player of just a few short years ago. I'd take Wade or Rice over him right now.

exactly....marv might not be the big play guy anymore but we don't need the big play from him...just a solid route runner with excellent hands moving the chains.

that would be stellar if we signed favre and marv imo....i'm still excited if we get neither though...as long as junkson isn't starting qb again this year....as soon as i see him take a snap i start feeling sick.

I know we have a few headcases on the Vikes, ala Percy...but if we have a few projects on the Vikings why not take on another laugh.

Why not trade B. Berrian and 2nd for B. Marshall? Berrian has talent but he is not the talent of Marshall. Berrian can disappear in stretchs of games Marshall can dominate a corner and dictate a game just from his physical skills; perfect fit for Farve the gunslinger. Berrian 6'1" 185; Marshall 6'4" 230, and he's 3 yrs younger. Last 2 seasons in Denver everyone knew in the stadium where the ball was going and the defense still could not stop it.

Denver has to trade him ...why not here, and reunite Berrian w/ Orton.

There are a few reasons why not to trade for him and most of that is off-field reasons, which you could have said the same for Allen before we traded for him.

If we're going for it all by signing Favre, lets go for it...I could envision Favre/Marshall taking over a playoff game when we needed to do so.

....sorry probably alittle too much Mountain Dew in me laugh

Very interesting. Not sure how I feel about that one though. I really like Berrian, but I also really like Marshall. I have seen plenty of times though that Berrian ran right past the defense and was WIDE open, then to have T-Awesome overthrow him. I say keep Berrian and trade Chester Taylor and Rice(maybe plus a second) for Marshall.

i'd never trade berrian for marshall...berrian has been solid since he got here...he put up nice numbers for having the worse qb's in the nfl throwing to him...i seen him open all the time without getting the ball...favre will hit him all day...if we sign favre i say we are set at WR for this season.

marshall is good though but not really worth what we'd have to give up.

shankhole is gonna have a monster year at TE this season!
