Slush & Snow Turds on garage floor?

One of my biggest peeves about winter is all the mess on the garage floor

I shovel it out and toss it to the side of the driveway, but it kills the grass in the spring.

What do you guys do?

The same thing you do. The dipssticks that run this town throw salt all over the street and let you drag it home on your vehicle and deposit it on the garage floor. The streets are white when they are dry and so is my garage floor.

I have a drain in my garage so all the salt they do here helps kepe my drain open. But all the sand is a real pain in the *&@. I will sweep it up and put back on the street for them to clean up in the spring.

I stop outside my garage and kick off as much of the slush chunks as I can.

As far as killing the grass, try to get it back out on the street.

I would call your public works and complain. Its a big waste of money. The city I work for uses way too much salt too but its hard to convince them to change.

I sweep the floor up when its dry. I din't have much for salt unless I have been driving in the big cities.

Or live out here in the country, where the backroads are glare ice and see no attention at all!

You know for some odd reason my township plow guy insists on sand and salt on my gravel road....ticks me off as I like to drag my fish trap down the gravel road and he melts it all off. Maybe with new budget restrictions they will cut back on this service...

Just scoop up the stuff and put it in a 5 gallon pail, walk down to the street and dump it there...!

I shovel it into the street. Side beni is that it melts the snow & ice infront of the driveway.
