Catmendo
Yesterday I invited a good friend in search of a few Morel's in a loation that I have always kept to myself. We never set any new records for success, but we had a great time walking through the bush anyway. Besides the bush offers much more than a few old mushrooms anyway! We're heading back later this afternoon...who knows what we'll find!
mmeyer
Those are some great finds Stu. Pretty cool looking shrooms and that big ol' buck head, well that's pure gold!
icehousebob
Stu, your Canadian deer are different from Minnesota deer. Here, they only shed their antlers but up there they shed their whole skull. They must look funny before it grows back.

Crickschop04
Be careful with that top one from that angle it actually appears to be a false morel. I say that from where the cap attaches to the stem.

I duno, we piled into a mess of them last night served up with some fine Manitoba beef and I feel like a million this morning!I'll check with gatorhunter to see if his crew had any ill effects... Crickschop04
Yeah, it would be nearly impossible to tell from a photo, but the "half-free" morels and "thimble caps" are very similar, and "thimble caps" can cause an upset stomach in some folks.
