Baby squirrel

My son found this baby squirrel on the deck today. Of course he wanted to keep it but we let him go and I think he's ok. He was seen climbing up a tree today. I've never seen a baby squirrel so I thought it was pretty neat. Very cute little guy.

Seeing that baby squirrel is a first for me too. I only hope that the little one's body grows up to match its head...lol!

Yeah, he is a goofy looking little guy. He definitely has the huge head thing going on. He's gone up a tree now so I'm hoping that he'll make it.

Quite the unique capture. As I've never seen a baby squirrel before either, I'm glad you shared this photo.

And, speaking of defecating on the deck. I've got a couple of my backyard squirrels so tame that they come up the steps of my upstairs deck and take peanuts out of my hand. I'm just amazed and thankful how carefully they take it. I expected them to grab it and run. They are very slow and methodic, when they take it from between my fingers. Unfortunately, they proceed to jump on the railing, eat the peanut and defecate. I guess it's really my fault for training them.
