huntmup
And what a beautiful morning. The birds were really fired up and so were we. It was 6:35am when the first strutter makes his way up to us from the creek bottom. At that time he was 60+ yards out and closing. He ended up working his way past us and headed to the field where two other Toms were showing off for three hens that were feeding. With a little sweet talkin and some scratching of the leaves he worked his way along the edge of the woods in our direction and at 7:15am and less then 15 yards away I threw out a putt and my nephew Tony let go a load of #4's. That's when the fun started. The other two Toms come running in and just kicked the snot out of Tony's bird. I mean they openned up a huge can of whoop a$$. Tony and I stood up to go get his bird when the first tom started in, so I grabbed the camera and started snapping pictures. Then the second bird joins in. The camera is flashing, Tony and I are just busting a gut and the two toms just kept kicking the stuffing out of Tony's bird. 21.5 Lbs. 7/8 in. spurs 10 in. beard Tony's bird is laying in front of the tom in the first pic. The two toms dishin the beatdown were bigger then Tonys. To bad I did'nt turn the video on.

Sorgy
Great Job. Very Nice Bird. The only bad part is once your tag is done you need to find other ways to get in the woods. I have 2 kids and for some reason they sign up for differnt time periods This year my daughter got drawn for the "C" season. I hope she gets a crack at a nice bird this year. I "sacraficed" my tail to the decoy gods. May I have many returns on it Congrat again on the nice bird. He should remember it for a long time. Joel Joel, I've been taking two of my nephews turkey hunting for five years now and I have to admit it is such a joy watching them learn something new each time out in the woods. Then there's that moment when they make the hit on the bird they've been working. I'm tellin ya, I get more out of their excitement than any turkey I've killed. They have killed three birds each now and have learned alot. I'm just hoping when they know more then Uncle Dan they still let me tag along.
