I have owned a Lund and a Tracker, both 16' semi-V's. Never had a significant problem with either one. The Lund was a wetter ride, but was an older hull design. I had the Lund for 10 years. The Tracker I have now is an 04 model. I forget now which magazine, but one article rated my Tracker second only to the comparable Lund, but the Lund was quite a bit more expensive.

Some say the welds will crack; however, so far the Tracker hull is as solid as a rock and it has banged into quite a few rocks in the lake we fish. Guess time will tell.

I was doing a lot of boat shopping next year, and I stopped by to look at a nicely priced tracker. I think it was an 18 footer, laid out with a big Merc hanging off the back. What really made me take a step back was the fit and finish of the boat. How the electric wires were just hanging under the console or how the carpet was cut (or not cut) - small, but significant things like that. I was looking 3-5 years down the line and looking at how this small but significant things would cause me problems.

You definitely get a LOT of boat for the money. But in the end - I think that a fisherman would be much more satisfied with the layout, fit and finish of a Lund.

We had an older tracker fiberglass bass boat. The wiring was poorly done, and we were always 'under the hood' tinkering around with it until we decided to rewire the entire thing ourselves.

Also, the hull design wasn't that great. When my family upgraded to a champion we couldnt believe how much better the thing turned and how much drier the ride was.

They aren't the best boats out there, but people are to hard on them. They are good boats, that float and get out out on the lake, they are well priced, and it it pretty easy to do your own work/modification on.

tracker tundra is a good boat, i would take it over my old pro v, my buddy baught a tundra 19 ft i think. It was a smoother and dryer ride than my pro v 1800, but I think thats the only tracker boat I would want to own
