Mayfly bite

It seems like winter will never end up here so the odds of you even seeing a mayfly are slim to none but if there is a large hatch you will find that it is usually in the deeper parts of the lake so try to fish as far as you can from that area and use what works best on that lake (Leechs, minnows, crawlers) and work the type of structure that you find the most productive and you enjoy fishing. Even if there is a hatch on the lake not every fish will migrate to the hatch so don't let that be a factor because there can be great fishing but you might have to try some new spots. I read your post in the womens forum and you will be on a Great chain of lakes so if the fish don't cooperate on Andrusia you can just move to a different lake. If all else fails put on a number 8 perch shad rap and troll 15-17 feet of water with 8 pound test and something will be sure to tug grin.gif

This is the best answer in my opinion. Use a dark tiger pattern blade, like black and chartruese and orange. I like indianna blades better than colorado blades for this. Use a few orange beads, then a single hook with a half-crawler. In some locals this set-up is commonly referred to as a 'may fly rig'
