LMITOUT
Jr's car was on a rail for his qualifying lap and maybe he'll get his first win in a long time this weekend with a little luck. Looks like he can drive afterall...
harvey lee
When Jr finishes in the top two for the year, all will believe. he just needed to get on a better team and get away from the old boss.

Coach Dog
Jr's always ran well at Texas, indeed. He easily won the pole. Finally time to put the winless streak to an end?

lawdog
Jr. won't win if he doesn't start providing better feedback about the car and Tony Jr. doesn't make better adjustments to it. They badly dialed out a rocket ship... Too much I'm hearing Jr. say put the car back the way it was, not good feedback. The track changes throughout the race and "put it back the way it was" doesn't tell the crew what changes you need. You hear the other drivers providing better info. Its getting a little tight under throttle when I get back on the gas coming off vs. put it back the way it was. Which one of those commetns helps the team??? That to me seems to be there problem right now, they are fast but they dial themselves out.
HOF#13
Gotta disagree with ya on this one lawdog. I watched / listended to the whole race on Dale Jr.'s channel on hotpass, and did all last season as well. I heard everything Jr. was telling Eury Jr. about the car. He was very detailed and adamant about what his car was doing going into the corner, in the middle of the corner, and coming off the corner. His car was far from perfect even at the beginning of the race. The problem yesterday he was loose in and loose off the corners, but very tight in the center. Whatever they would do to tighted the car up going in and coming off, made the tight in the center problem even worse. Eury stated that they missed the set-up a bit and should have run a different rear spring (which they obviously couldn't change during the race). At any rate, I personlly think Dale Jr. does a very good job of providing feedback to his crew chief. Jimmy Johnson even said earlier this season that he was very impressed with what / how Jr. is able to communicate what his car is doing. Yes, he and his team struggled all day and were very frustrated. To me though, it was encouraging to see the team struggle as bad as they did and still finish 12th. They are going have a few wins this season before it is all said and done.
lawdog
That's good to hear HOF, they haven't played anything that detailed on the TV.

HOF#13
One of the big mistake changes they made in the middle of the race was Eury Jr. tried to go with a real high tire pressure as that was the package the #48 car was running with success, and it backfired horribly. They talked on hotpass about how the crew chief's for the #88, #48, and #5 all got together Saturday to swap set-ups and discuss what was working and what wasn't. I noticed at the time they never mentioned Letart and the #24??? The only real good thing about the #24 and the #5 struggles is that Hendrick will do whatever it takes to get all 4 teams running in the top 10 consistently, and that will still benefit the #48 and #88 who are doing the best of the 4 right now.
