I'm not a baseball guru by any means, I can't name all the names, stats, and nuances of the game, but I watch it every chance I get and once in a great while, go to the games. I've been a fan since before the Twins won the big one in the late 80's and again in the early early 90's...still have our homer hankies, exciting stuff that was!

That being said, we've had some hitters and we have some now, we've had pitchers and again we have some pitchers now. Play makers? We've had em and we've got em. Why does the team do the same [PoorWordUsage] over and over and over, year after year?

Morneau seems like he forgets how to hit a ball, Mauer seems like he forgot how to hit a ball? Is it the sign calling? Why do they stand at the plate and watch strike after strike come by and then swing at something out of the strike zone, if they swing at all?

Young lions will come to the team and within a short period of time, it seems like whatever got em here, goes out the window and they can't hit. How does a baseball player like Punto unlearn how to hit a baseball? He never lost his other skills?

Maybe it is time to be looking at the coaching staff and find out if the problem is there? we've had the same coaches for a number of years and it seems that we have the same predictable results for a number of years!

Go ask Big Poppy why he couldn't hit when he was here, ask a bunch of the other players that have gone on to better times, why we can't hit? Good pitching is great, but when everything is fleshed out, a team still needs at least 1 run more then the other team to win and that has to come from a bat!

In my opinion, I know they can't win em all, but for the most part, they sure could look better in losing then what they do!

big papi couldnt hit here because he was hurt all the time. when he wasn't hurt it was because Kelly wasted him. Tom Kelly told him he had too big a hole in his swing to ever amount to anything. Kelly tried teaching him to spray the ball to all fields instead of playing with his strengths. kelly routinely benched players that didn't hit to opposite fields.

just think what we could have done those years with a healthy ortiz....sigh. also think of the immense trade value he would have had.

the problem is mostly in the minors somewhere now, power development doesnt happen rapidly enough and patience isnt being properly taught

Last night was fun to watch, I hope they didn't use up all their offense in one game? That swing that Kubel put on that baseball was about as fluid as it gets!

Seems simple to me, if they want to win again tonight, just do what they did last night, etc. etc. etc. right through to the end of the season? The game isn't all luck, they didn't just get lucky, they played ball.

Windy hows the weather on your side of the world? Are they going to be even playing the game tonight?

Last night looked awfully cold to be playing outside, or to be sitting there watching the game. I cant wait until the new Twins stadium is built, and they get to play outside here too! I wont be at any of them games, thats for sure!

Windy agreed on the so called "experts" comments. They believed the Cardinals starting staff with the exception of Wainright would be dismal until Carpenter, Mulder and Piniero returned. Lohse, Wellemeyer, Thompson and Looper have been holding the fort down just fine. I love the 7-2 start but would like a little better production from the late relief, Izzy's been lights out..

Weather don't look good in the Windy tonight. They might get the game in but I would hate to pay money to sit in the cold rain to watch. I guess if I was making 10 million a year to play then I could tough it out but for now I will have to sit in front of the big screen and cheer on my Pale Hose. Maybe I will have to scarf down a box of Twinkies for desert!!! LOL

Just remember Windy, nothing is ever as good or as bad as it seems.

Been raining here for what seems like 2 days - I can't believe they'll get it in tonight.

And I take the opposite side - as makers of $10M I'm sure they wouldn't mind giving up a game's salary to stay high and dry and not play tonight in the cold.

Editnote: ESPN shows today's game as PPD

4...That last sentence is funny! \:D You and alot of other folks! Maybe the stadium is being built with global warming in mind?

You know, April in Minnesota, 33 degrees, 240 mile an hour winds and a horizontal rain/snow mix that is guarenteed to shred the clothing right off your body!

Nope, in weather like this, the game would be watched on the flat screen and if it wasn't televised, I'd catch the results on the news and in the paper the next morning.

Way to man up!

What was your guys theory on the Twins not being in the top 2 in the division like they have been 7 of the last 9 years with our worst finish being 3rd?

Go Twins and thank you Carl Pohlad for the best business model in all of Major league sports!
