The Jr Move Thoughts So Far

One thing about jr that stands out to me is lack of ability to hold on to a bad car. I have seen jj, smoke, the rat, couzin carl, and a few others have those cars damm near sideways they are so out of shape and be able to saw the wheel and keep them out of the wall. With jr it seems you hear on the radio "boy I wish I had my old car back" and bam seconds later hes in the wall or spun out. I guess thats where I see the talent of some of these guys really show when they can stay in the race despite the bad handling of the car at times. and yea how many of the drivers I listed above miss they're pit stall crazy

and as far as Lagano goes he did get a lot of hype but give him a break hes still wet behind the ears in this league. I think hes going to win a lot of races in the years to come.

They've all had pit road issues. Carl just replaced a pit crew member or two and the Rat has lost a race because of poor pit stops too. Where did Gordo finish this week? Yep, pit road error there as well.

I didnt say they dont have pit problems. everyone does from time to time(except maybe the 17 and killer bees) I asked if they have ever just drove past the pit box cause thet just didnt see it from not paying attention. maybe but not that I can remember. then again other guys not named jr maybe have to pay close attention to the performace they have and can get fired if not good enough. thats what rubs me the wrong way about him, sort of like working at a company with the owners kid who is worthless but cant ever get fired because of who his daddy is.

He missed the pit box cause the donkey holding the sign only had the sign bar out half way. Watch the replay you can see the member of the pit crew holdin the bar in the middle-- not on the end. Jr even commmented on the radio after it happened "Did you guys shorten the pole for the pit sign? I didn't see nuthin' right there".

From Jayski....

"Hendrick to swap #5 and #88 crew chiefs? Sources within Hendrick Motorsports confirmed to Captain Thunder that discussions were held over the Easter break regarding the possible switching of crew chiefs between the #5 and #88 teams. Mark Martin's crew chief Alan Gustafson was said to be on the block and was willing to move to the #88 team and Martin was willing to support the move. The discussions over Easter ended with an agreement between the two teams and Mr. Hendrick to keep their current teams in tact for at least three more weeks to see if both teams could improve on the slow start they have endured through the first part of the 2009 Sprint Cup season. Sources said Tony Eury Jr., Dale Earnhardt Jr., Martin, and Gustafson all agreed that if Mr. Hendrick wanted a change, they would be willing to swap Gustafson for Eury Jr. However, with Martin's win Saturday night in the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix, any switch is now out of the question for the foreseeable future. Hendrick and Martin have no desire to take Gustafson away from the #5 team after the way they dominated the Phoenix race. Now, the timetable is set for the All-Star race at Charlotte on May 16th. If both teams continue to perform poorly, expect a change the week of the All-Star race. However, if Martin's team continues to gain momentum following their Phoenix win, and the #88 team continues to struggle, sources said Eury Jr. could be replaced by car chiefs Ron Malec of the #48 team or Jason Burdett of the #24 team.(CaptainThunderRacing.com and reported on the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show by Capt Thunder)(4-22-2009)"

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. I know as a Jr. fan that every race right now, I just wait for something to go wrong, and when it does I'm not the least bit suprised.

was that spose to be a aprils fool joke

matin and gustason cetainly arnt to blame for 2 motors and cut tire hes been in the top 10 the last 4 races and will easly

make the chase hes really been one of the fastest cars all season i'll tell you the difference between jr and mark is mark can tell you how to make the car better !!!!!! jr can drive if the car is good but very seldom do you see them make a car better during the race and yes some of that goes maybe to tony e but not all his fault a guy like martin can make a crew chief look better cuz he can tell them if he needs air pressure wedge etc

i'm really thinkin gustsfon could be the next knaus thses guys are this good already wait til we go to thses trackes the 2nd time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never saw martin as giddy and happy as he was on the victory circle and i've been watching him long before he ever made to nascar

No joke...I cut and pasted it right from jayski's site.

However, this update is there now today...

"UPDATE: Will rumors of a Hendrick Motorsports separation of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Tony Eury Jr. ever end? Ever? Ever? Never, as long as there are upstart, cottage-industry Web-sites churning this stuff out, and others linking to it. "There's absolutely nothing to this," came an e-mail reply from high-up inside Hendrick, when the latest one was checked. The latest report appears on Jayski.com, picked up from CaptainThunderRacing.com, that meetings were held over the Easter break at Hendrick. Supposedly there was discussion of swapping crew chiefs, with Eury going to Mark Martin, and Alan Gustafson going to Earnhardt, if the two teams' performances didn't improve within three races. Here's how screwy this stuff can get. Right in the middle of the CaptainThunder report, there's a line, "However, with Martin's win Saturday night in the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix, any switch is now out of the question for the foreseeable future." Then the report goes right on to say that new deadlines have been set for a possible switch: "If both teams continue to perform poorly, expect a change the week of the All-Star race." The wackiness warranted a double-check high-up at Hendrick, which brought the firm reply, "Not a shred of truth to any of it."(ESPN Insider)(4-22-2009)"

ya i guess i've never gone to that jayskis

so i dont know how legit it is i've heard bout it

but as i said above martins been fast all yr motors arnt his

or gustasons fault and in daytonna the rain kinda screwed things up i'd say in 5 weeks or so martins in the top 5 or close to it

22 tops 10 at dega so if he misses the big one i believe

he will make the top 12 this week no problem

i dunno jr really has no excuses that i can see he's with the best you can probably get with and him and tony have been together for how long i do believe this tho if the ole man was still around jr would be runnin alot better i'm not sure why but i think he would

I don't think it is all that far-fetched to say that Jr would be better off if the Sr were still alive. Just based on the struggles I have seen Jr have at Hendrix, I have really started to think. I bet Sr had things set up pretty nice at DEI for little Jr.

If Sr. were still alive, Jr. would still be driving for DEI and it would be considered one of the top programs right along with Roush, Hendrick, and RCR. Dale Sr. never would have allowed DEI to become what it has. But, he's not, and DEI is what it is.

I wouldn't generally post in here, (Nascar Posts), but what you guys are saying doesn't make sense. It's like more then half of you think it's JR's crewchief. How can this be? He won races back at DEI with Eury JR as crewchief. Now because he's losing it's Tony's fault? Give me a break. I like Dale but what I remember is ever since he crashed that Vette back, whenever, he really kinda sucks. He is not aggresive out on the track. But then why should he? The money he makes he doesn't need to be. He's the most popular driver and as long as he stays in that spotlight, why try to kill yourself?

The only thing DW has ever said that was worth listening to was "whatever happened to good old REAL racin.

Admit it guys, it's all about the money.

Rather then say "Gentlemen start your engines" it should be "Gentlemen check your emotions and then start your engines".

People say they want real racin back, but, the wizards at NASCAR won't allow it. My prediction is it's only a matter of time before they ban "bump drafting".

This is just my opinion, it's not to offend anyone here or at NASCAR. Well, maybe DW. But I don't like him anyways.
