Welcome to the pike forum.

Welcome to the Northern pike forum boys n girls. This forum was created to help cover many of the topics that are pike specific, discussion concerning pike baits, tactics, waters regulations and even the many seasons that are open earlier and later into the year across the country and into Canada.

So feel free to ask or share just about anything you wish concerning the old "Water Wolf". Fishing Minnesota/HSO outdoors has also hand selected the moderators for this forum that all have knowledge and experience in the different areas of the pike fishing arena. With that said I would like to welcome Cjac, RK and Polarsusd81 as the moderators of the Northern Pike Forum.

Good things to come!

Pike fishing is one of the most popular and enjoyed forms of angling in Minnesota but least talked about. Looking forward to good info shared, good stories and lots of success to all!

I'm excited to be a part of this forum!

this is correct. Im excited to see that it has its own forum, and that we are going to be able to enjoy it all together. Minnesota lakes to carry some awesome trophy pike, and its aweseome to see that Minnesota fisherman take care of the lakes here for the pike.

Im excited for the year and hope everyone else is as well.

I too am pretty excited about the new forum. I consider myself a multispecies guy, concentrating on bass and panfish, but chase eyes, skies, and pike as well.

One of the things I love about pike is their tennacious attitude. If you can make em mad, you can make em bite, and they put up a nice fight too. Looking forward to what this forum will become.

Way cool!

When we started Esox Angler Magazine, there were some roaring debates about whether to include pike, or just stick with muskies. I was one of the ones arguing for pike. Love the things... So I'm pretty excited to see pike get their due here on Fishing MN too...

Cheers,

Rob Kimm

well said all. Pike, the ''other'' Game fish. i'm looking forward to not having to read around Muskie posts to find one on pike and vise versa. this is great. both have plenty of folk lore but different just the same. oxymorons, gotta love 'em \:\/

scan0009.jpg Here is a shot of my son John with his personal best. 41 and a half incher but thin. We hope to learn more from participating in this forum and maybe we be lucky enough to beat it with all the hot tips and pointers.Hans

Yes this is a great idea. Northerns are much more of a target fish than muskie for me, and the muskie guys were definitely the most active on the old combined forum. Thanks for improving an already-awesome web site.

I like this forum. A group of us here in Colorado make several Pike fishing trips a year to Nebraska just for the Pike. Both on the hard lid and in the spring. We are acutualy leaving tomarrow for our annual spring outing. Can't wait.

Sorry to report, but never made it to Nebraska for our Pike trip. A severe winter storm and bizzard in NE Colorado and western NB Friday afternoon made us decide not to travel. A normal 6 hour drive to our destination, probably would have turned out to be 10 or more. Headed south of Denver instead a couple of hours to do some Bass fishing.

We may try again in a couple of weeks.
