Dckasten, I live in St. Paul. Big Wade is in Cottage Grove. We fish through the metro and up by forest lake down to Owattana. I'll go anywhere though. I do know where fridly is. Wade and I are heading to Slab Fest on Red this weekend but if you wanna head out after that let me know. You can email me at [email protected]. We also fish with kingfisher a lot. He's like the step son I never really wanted hehehehehe.

Anyway, give me a shout and we'll head out.

What makes me mad is the winter of 1999 and 2000 I paid $0.79 a gallon pretty much all winter long. Marine_Man and I our buddy fished all over that winter. Now that was not that long ago. Makes me mad but what do you do. I haven't been out fishing as much as usual this winter and gas is a large part of that but there are other good reasons too.

Just about had a heart attack tonight when I drove by the local gas station- $3.09, a 12 cent jump since I went to work this morning. Where does it end? These gas companies are making BILLIONS in one quarter of the year, and we are suffering to make ends meet. Makes me sick. The government can't tell me that they can't put a "cap" on gas prices and review it every 5 years and determine whether or not to raise it then. Right now a cap nationwide of $2.50 for 5 years sounds fair.

Zamboni...the gas prices are 1/3 taxes already...so take your 3 dollar gas and the gas companies are only getting 2 dollars...the government is getting 1...

Z - be thankful you don't live in Europe...gas is over 6 dollars a gallon there. We have just been spoiled...especially when gas was under a buck.

Don't expect gas prices to stop coming up until we get to around 4 dollars a gallon...this should be expected in the next few years especially if we elect a socialist in November...

Everyone should just be thankful that you aren't paying 6 like everywhere else in the world.

Nope I won't be thankful we are being sent to the poorhouse. This should make everyone sick! The end of the oil men in the white house is coming to an end. How about 2 dollars for a dozen eggs. 2 years ago these same eggs were 50 cents. The gas is the root of all evil and we are all paying, as the higher ups are on there way to the bank. Do you really think that the men in charge care if gas was 5 dollars a gallon?

So you either have to get on a bike or...

EVERYTHING is expensive because of the price of fuel. Diesel in the trucks that take the goods to the stores has gone up, so trucking companies have raised their prices to compensate, so then in turn the stores have raised their prices.

Earlier you said that the gas companies are "only" making $2 a gallon. Fed tax on a gallon of gas is 18 cents, and state tax is about the same. 36 cents is a far cry from $1. Like I said earlier if a gas cap is enforced the whole country will benefit. The gas companies may not like it, but they have made enough money anyway. Seems like oil barrel prices aren't negotiable, and I think that is insane. If the UAE wants $100 for a barrel of oil, we need to tell them thanks, but I am going to go buy oil from the Arabs who are only charging $80 a barrel- they will change their prices in a hurry. This is getting way off thread topic, so I am going to stop now
