Safe to Walk Under Bridges?

I know it's not recommended to drive on the ice under bridges, but do any of you walk under them? There's a spot on Minnetonka I'm curious about that is on the opposite side of the bridge from where a logical parking spot is located. I never see anyone there, but the lake map shows that this may be a promising spot. What are your thoughts?

I would test the ice, not what you hear. Bring along a chisel and test every couple of steps. I was in a completely different area - the Dike road between Wabasha and Nelson - and found 16 inches of black ice under the bridge, yet there was open water on the west side of the road fifty feet away. Any current at all makes a huge difference, and while you are probably OK after this cold snap, it is a good idea to carry an ice spud!

Like previously posted check the ice yourself not what you hear anywhere including on this site. Not that anyone here would steer you wrong but they are not there at that moment. Check the ice and wear ice picks to be safe if you intend to cross any potentially risky spot.
