Riceisnice
Anyone have an easy recipe for cooking panfish? I'm looking for something new to do with my crappies and sunnies. Thanks!
Jim Almquist
How about egg, flour and Crisco ? or you could put a light dusting of cajun seasoning and then put thin slices of lemon on top and bake. If you bake on a flat sheet make sure to grease first.
Deitz Dittrich
Ive posted this many times on here.. so I'm sorry if others have seen it...Easiest by far, and very good..Rub the fillet down with mayo.. put on a cookie sheet. Salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with parmesean cheese.. the real stuff, not can stuff... Broil till golden brown. Should take about 6-7 mins...eat! Juneau4
The best recipes have been done with experimenting. Just remember what seasonings you used and how much.
prov1900
In-Fisherman had a recipe a number of years ago where they implemented crappie/bluegill fillets (fried) into a BLT sandwich. I have done this and it is outstanding. Of course, how can you go wrong with bacon? It is the fifth food group after all!!!
jbdragon17
Panfish tacos are great..Just fry/bake your fillets (nice when they are crispy)...Wrap the fish in soft shell tacos...favorite taco fixens...salsa/tarter sauce mix...and your done. Wayne Sieber
Rice - We tried Dietz Dittrich's recipe on Monday night of this week and I can tell you it was not only good but so easy to make (and fast!)
Dark Cloud
Deitz - you got a winner there! I did a batch of gills, crappies, and perch per your recipe. Very quick and easy. I hit mine with some roasted garlic and bell pepper seasoning I have here also...We eat fish atleast once a week, sometimes twice. Battered, breaded, broiled, chowder, cakes, grilled, you name it. And tonite got a thumbs up...
BobT
One I like is to pan fry using corn meal flour rather than wheat flour. The corn meal stays much crispier and adds flavor.Bob
Powerstroke
One of my new favorites I got from the site a while back.Coat fillets in the ranch dressing of your choice. Then bread the coated fillets with crushed up Durkee's french fried onions. Place on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven. Much healthier than oil and the flavor is fantastic. GRH
put a thin layer of ranch dressing on the bottom of a pan, lay fillets on dressing, crumble up regular potato chips and cover fillets, then sprinkle cheese over that. bake and enjoy. easy and really good
