Last night my girlfriend and I were out on the south end of bald eagle, and we invited another couple that we are trying to get into ice fishing. Shortly after getting everybody set up I hear the ice cracking a little more than usual, so I peaked my head out to see. Thinking I was going to see a big truck slowly driving by, nope, it was a dodge Dakota doing about 65mph, close enough to read his license plate. WHY?!!! Are you in that big of a hurry???? Are the fish going somewhere???? It’s idiots like this that give new anglers a bad impression about the sport, and made them a little uneasy when the ice is shifting like that. It was very stupid, unsafe and illegal (I’m pretty sure) thing to do. I apologized to the other couple and told them that normal fishermen wouldn’t do stupid things like that.

So, to all the other ice anglers out there that follow the written and unwritten rules, my girlfriend and I thank you

p.s. I did catch a personal record crappie last night. And just goes to show karmas a #$%&@. do good things , and good things happen

I've got peeps on four wheelers and snowsleds coming to within 10 feet at high speeds of my portable...Worst part of it is, that there isn't another portable around for about 300 yards. Normally it's just some joy rider, but when it's someone pulling a portable sled,...,your own fish'n brethren that's a jerk...It just wasn't one pass, but two passes.

"GO FIND YOUR OWN SPOT!"

"THE WHOLE LAKE and you've got to be a jerk!"

That and it never fails that someone pulls a big 20 footer right up in between a bunch of little portables...during prime time too. Well maybe not a 20 footer but a wheeled house. LOL's It's only prime time because we've been there for a while and had just gotten our first few bites. Nothing worth yelling about. We're usually gone and moving to a different spot afterwards. Bunch of EASTMAN ICE CUBES. LOL's

Yeah I hear you guys. I was on Clearwater and I heard the same thing not once, twice, but three times! It was like the guy kept forgetting something on shore and he was going to miss on a great bite. Which couldn't have been the case because I didn't catch anything. That got me wondering how fast you would need to go before something bad would happen. It definitely looked like he was pushing the limits in his F250 on 12-16 inches of ice....

Last time i was out i was the only portable on one half the bay, and these snowmobilers kept circling around my spot over and over. They'd start em make a circle park em and keep doing that for like an hour. ANNOYING IT IS.

we were out on rush a couple weeks ago and a guy in a new dodge ram came flyin by going to shore..... with about 5 young kids in the back. then he tried to make it up the hill to get to the road..... with the kids still in the back. eventually after trying to make it up the hill a few times he had the kids jump out, but man we couldn't believe people are that dumb. just think if one of those kids fell out!

I admit, that I can think up of some mean things to do too, but I walked into an unmarked spearing hole before. The worst part is my buddies laughing and asking me if I was all right, only for me to find out that I lost some things falling into the hole, namely my Rx glasses.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
