All terrain tire suggestions for 1/2 ton 4x4 pickup

I'm looking for tire suggestions, what brands/model have you folks had luck with? I'm leaning towards Dunlop Rovers, I had a set on a Toyota Tacoma that went 80K+ and still had good tread.

I put these on my k1500:

MULTI-MILE WILD COUNTRY RADIAL XTX SPORT

I got the 265/16 8-ply, so had to get the rigid stems for higher pressure, and tread was a bit deeper. I just wanted tougher tire that 6 ply. I like them so far, used North Dakota field driving, logging road driving, and just normal snow. They look better on the truck than the picture As they have a nice squared off edge look, not rounded. Not noisy.

They are "off brand" so cheaper, but still about $450 after mounting, tax and the extra cost of the stems. We have had good luck with Kumhos as well. Good luck with whatever you get.

(FYI - I personally had bad luck with BFG AT, both in getting stuck and separations, but I know friends like them. I laugh when I hear how much they pay for them

I had good luck with my Goodyear Wrangler AT/S. 70,000 before it was time for new tires! I went with the LT simply because of the tougher sidewalls, maybe a little stiffer ride but I'll sacrifice that knowing when I'm in rocks my sidewalls wont rupture or cut so easy. Most tires out there are fairly decent if you keep your alignment in check and always monitor air pressure. It boils down to how much you really want to spend!

My favorite is the Michelin LTX A/T. Spendy, but decent ride, decent traction, not much noise, and wear like iron.

I've heard the Revos are good too but haven't tried them. The Michelins just refuse to wear out...

Had Dunlop Radial Rovers (likely older models) before the Michelin and I didn't like them that much. They seemed to wear pretty quickly on my truck (K-1500 ext. cab) and the traction was only fair, IMO.

You can find many reviews at the Tire Rack HSOforum. I always consider the total number of miles reported when looking at reviews too.

I also run these. I have had them on my last 3 trucks and will continue to run them on my vehicles. Great tire IMO and I have gotten great mileage out of them. I'm at about 55,000 miles on my 03' Dodge 2500 (first 30k of that was on an 03' 1500). They have ALWAYS gotten me where I need to go.

I'm a big BFG All-Terrain fan as well!

I'm on my 3rd set of All-Terrains now, my last set ran to 105,000 miles. As long as I've owned BFG All-Terrains, which covers about 9-10 years and nearly 300,000 miles of driving, I have never had a single flat until I got a nail in my last set, which was the day I bought new ones.

Balance and rotate frequently and you can run these things a very long time.

What do they say... you get what you pay for. These tires are worth every single penny IMO.

I have about 90,000 on a set of Goodyear Wrangler AT's. I will probably run them to 100,000 and then either trade my truck in, or replace tires, not sure which yet. They are awesome tires, quiet with great traction.

get the mickey all terrains, i have some on my diesel and they wear and work great
