I was wondering if it is worth getting a Lx-5 because I basically only fish for perch and already have the Marcum Vs560 camera? Which brings me to a new point why didn't they put there 360 view on there new line of colored cameras. More concerned with the flasher question. Thankyou

1st off posts from the 5th on were lost when the update was getting revamped.

Secondly I think you would be happy with a LX-3 if your only fishing perch. If you fish real steep drops then the dual ducer may be nice and then go to the LX-5.

Most of the time I find my LX-3 covers all my needs.

Where the Marcum LX5 will stand above is the daul transducer with narrow beam option. When fishing bottom hugging perch that sometime hang in the small rocks you can narrow up the cone and get better target seperation among the cluttered bottom. Sometimes making all the difference.

Now another great feature with the narrow beam is when fishing next to your buddy in a shack or portable you can narrow up your cone so you don't have to look at his jig bouncing around all day.

I was the first to say I don't need a narrow beam or super fine or zoom, I just fish Red Lake. Well I find myself using all the feutures all the time on the LX5.

i just picked up the lx-5 this year. upgraded from the lx-1. i LOVE it. the adjustable zoom is great. i was fishing next to my uncle and fishing crappies. he has the fl-18. he couldnt get the crappies in his zoom. all i had to do was adjust them and it was game one. if ya have the money i would go with the lx-5. what ever ya buy youll love it, good luck out there.

Best advice that I can give you is get the most powerful unit you can with the most bells and whisles possible. As long as you stay in a price limit you can afford. If the lx-5 is to expensive get the lx-3 if that is to expensive get the vx-1. Because no matter which one you get you will use all the features the unit offers. Also if you are not sure about the money difference between units remember this it is less expensive to buy the lx-5 now then to buy the lx-3 and then decide after a year that you would like the lx-5 instead.
