Kingfisher down (but not out)

Greetings Fishing Minnesota Family:

Of all people that I thought would never touch a computer, my Dad was at the top of the list. Now, of all the things he does on the Internet, being a member of this community is the thing he enjoys the most.

Kingfisher will not be online for a while. He will be undergoing open-heart surgery this afternoon.

I know he will miss participating in this community while he is down -- I will get a laptop to him as soon as he can use it smile.gif.

If you want to send him a greeting, please reply to this topic and I will print them out for him to read in the hospital.

Kingfisher sends his greetings. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Warmest regards,
Kingfisher Jr.

Kingfisher
You'll be in my thoughts and prayers till your back on-line with us, and then out doing some fishing. May the peace and strength of our Lord be with you and your family thru this ordeal.

Best Regards....Fiskyknut

I talked to H.H this morning at the Post Office and he didn’t have any info at 8:35 this morning. I’m so glad you put the info on here for all Phil’s friends & well-wishers to help speed up his recovery by their prayers & thoughts.
Keep us informed on his progress.
Debi & I wish Phil a fast & speedy recovery.

Oh by the way Phil the fish will be bigger & hungrier when you get back on the hard or soft water! smile.gif

Kingfisher! From one who has experienced it, it only hurts when ya laugh! But then the laughter is usually worth the twinge!

Pinch a nurse for me, and get up an about soon!

Kingfish, you are also in my thoughts and prayers at this time. My father has been through it a few times and as labrat has eluded to "laughing will hurt at first" but it's all worth it in the end! Good luck and hoping for a speedy recovery! WWW

Kingfisher, my father in-law has been there three times. He's a stubborn old fart from Iowa that is still complaining about the nurses, well all except that one really cute one. He liked her. My prayers are with you, have a quick recovery.

Kingfisher, I do not know you as a person but based on the fact that you are on this board I know you share the same passion as I and the other on this board. The joy of being on the water, spending time with your buddies, and chasing that elusive big fish. I wish you a speedy recovery from this recent set back. Give us an update once Kingfisher Jr. gets you that laptop in you hospital room

Good news! The surgery is done and went well. He is back in the nursing unit and is recovering in stable condition. They added four bypass grafts. Now we hope for a quick recovery without incident.

Thanks for all of your posts!! I read them to him before surgery today and it really put a smile on his face!

Put one in the box for us!
Kingfisher Jr.

Kingfisher...

You don't know me as I don't know you...however, we share a similar passion and it sounds like you have a great son as well.
Wishing you a healthy return to Minnesota waters...--Andy

Good news Phil aka KingFisher is coming home today. He is a little weak from not eating as much and 4 bypasses. I’m sure when he is up to it he’ll be on the puter and letting us know how things are going. Who knows he might recover faster reading the fishingmn forums so he can set the hook again!

I want to thank each and everyone of you for your thoughts, prayers, and wellwishes, during my quadruple heart by-pass surgery, Saturday, 2/8/03. The surgeon Dr. Newman said everythng went very well considering it is over 20 years ago since my last one. Got home from the hospital yesterday. When soft water comes I should be ready for the walleye and lake trout.

Thanks again everyone.

Keep a tight line,
Kingfisher
