[HOF#13]

Ok...Here's your chance to predict the future, specifically the 2008 NASCAR season. We can bring this post back at the end of the 2008 season and see who has bragging rights!

Sifty, perhaps we can sticky this at the top of the forum for a while?

Anyhow, I'll go first.....

1) Dale Jr. makes the chase and finishes in the top three.

2) Tony Stewart and his new Toyota team miss the chase.

I know, I'm not really too far out on a limb on either of these....

Tony Stewart Wins the Daytona 500.

I predict that Jimmy Johnson will somehow stick his foot in his mouth trying to say something in a politically correct manner about how he dislikes having Jr. in the Hendrick camp.

Fans at Talledega will throw Mountain Dew cans at Jimmy if he wins.

I also predict that Jr will have a better year than this last one, but not by much. He's going into the former #25 budweiser car which (team-wise)has not been consistent for years.

The Gibbs change-over to Toyota will be news, but consistency will be an issue. Somewhere along the line, words will be exchanged between Tony and Shrub...a match that will be trouble from the get-go.

Mikey will continue to miss races due to poor qualifying efforts, but I do bet that at Daytona, there will not be any additives in the intake manifold.

Toyota will win a race this year but controversy will surround it.

Jr. will rebound to where he was a few years ago when it looked like he could actually drive

One (or more) of the open wheelers will completely p*ss off a veteran, then get sent to the wall at a short track...

Gibbs makes Toyota a contender (20 & 11 cars, not the 18)

Penske announces that they're leaving Dodge for Toyota in '09

SHrub will continue to whine & cry like the pampered brat he is

Carl Edwards will show his Dr. Jeckyl/Mr. Hyde personality on multiple occasions, which will lead to Jack Roush releasing him at year's end.

And finally, as much as I'd hate to see it, Gordon wins title #5...

if the fords can figure out the motor like hendrick did i think kennseth and edwards will be 2 and 3 in the chase, behind dale jr. that is if he gets help from his so called team mates, and i also agree that stewart will punch at least kyle once this year.

Kyle Petty hardly drives anymore, why would Tony punch Him?

My Prediction:

Gibbs Toyota's rival Hendrick chevs with Hendrick edging them out followed by RCR then Busch in his Penske with the fords falling even further behind.

I will go with JJ picking up number three. I also think HMS will have 3 of the top 5 cars in the end.

I dont really care for HMS but they do race very well and have great drivers and crews. Its tough to bet against HMS.

I predict that I will not be forced to sit in the back of the group at our Daytona 500 party this year!

It should be an interesting season with all of the changes that have gone on team and driver wise.

HMS will get of to a great lead as they do so well with the COT cars. The question will be, who if anyone can catch them.

I really think that RCR will be a Bigger factor in the chase

this year.

At one point the Gibbs COT cars were better than HMS, even though everyone was ga-ga over Hendrick...the stats spoke for themselves. Now, how they bring that over to Toyota will be another question.

I'm saying Jr. is with family that loves Him now and you will deffinatly see a big change with him. I predict a Chapionship within two seasons.

Sounds like very wishful thinking to me.

I think that the field will be alot closer now than they were last year with the COT now that everyone has focused all of their attention on its developement. It may take a little while but I have high hopes that the field will be a lot closer and it will provide better racing action and it will make the drivers to actually have to drive the cars again like it should be.

its going to be hard to predictions.cot cars all yr. i think hendrick and gibbs had the best cot cars last yr.but now gibbs went to toyota for some stupid reason which result in bad results.sure toyotas had great speeds during daytona practice.but i dont thats going tobe good enough.

daytona 500 2 hendrick cars will be in the top 5.

3 of hendricks cars will make the chase.

ill give toyota 1 win this season.

and 1 toyota will be in the chase.
