Thanks insuranceguy! Yep I posted a report in the CNY Tim and Kyle thread. It was a beautifuld day on the ice with Amanda, she caught some pretty decent gills today too on the white and brown Maki's... wink.gif Usually you get pestered on that lake with small to med, sized gills but we did catch a few quality gills as well and fishingking caught a slime dart which later ate my Timanti confused.gif Here's the pics...

Amanda's first fish caught this morning...

Timmy, Amanda, and Gang - Nice report. A few of those gills look much nicer than the average outta there...

Dad and I hit a diff spot this morning and things worked out ok. Ice was iffy, two layers. About 2 inches of ice then an inch of slush then another inch and a half of ice. We didnt make it to the location we wanted but poked around and found some fish. Ended up with 15 nice crappies 10 to 12 3/4 inches, kept a few perch, Guess who got one almost 13 inches, caught a half dozen gills, a half dozen small eyes, and think we iced 9 decent smallies. Wasn't fast and furious but certainly nice...

This warm-up, rain, and refreeze will actually help most lakes...

Thought he had another smallie...

Nice crappies Dark Cloud. I've fished that lake and that spot more than a few times when I was younger grin.gif Lots of great memories for me there!! Nice pictures Timmy. It was really nice weatherwise on Saturday. I'm finally going to be able to do some fishing this coming weekend and probably going for crappies and walleyes cool.gif

Here I am Timmie!! Gees with all the bright outfits out there it will be a tough choice between colors of lures and color of outfits! Do I match Timmie and Tank or Steve and Todd . . .I think the early and late season will be the red Artic suit so if I go through, I'll float, well supposed to float.

Frankie - most turds float, you should be ok. wink.gif

Dad, Meg, and I went up the neighbors pond for an hour today to check the ice and stretch some line. Didnt mark many but picked up 7-8 bass and a couple nice gills, all released. Ice was 4 inches of white ice and slick...

I've never met CNY Frank but he takes some abuse and it all seems good grin.gif That's great your neighbor has a pond with some fish in it Dark Cloud and that's a real good doggie pic to wrap it up. She looks a lot like one of our dogs that has some Collie and a few other breeds in him. grin.gif Hope to maybe meet you guys out on the ice and fish with Timmy again one Saturday this winter somewhere between there and here! I made some great venison sausage off my buck to grill up on the ice this year.

Dad and I spent the day on Long Pond. Had to keep moving and each hole was good for one to a couple of fish(we cut well over 50 holes). Mostly small/medium gills, small perch with a few nice ones, caught 3 diff year classes of crappies, and some nice largemouth. The last hour of the day you didnt have to move...

again hear say i was on the south end Wednesday for 1.5 hours fished from 28 fow to 4 fow and only marked 2 fished I measured 3.75" in every hole I drilled. It was a little spongy and there was a nice hole 50 ft out from shore in 3-4 fow where someone went through one Saturday all i gotta say is tread lightly Hopefully next weekend the lake will be safe enough for solo trips smile.gif

I finally got out on a solo mission for the first trip of the season late this afternoon and was lucky to find some good ice. I also was fortunate enough to find the motherload of slabs within the first 10 minutes grin.gif The FL-18 was lit up like a Christmas tree ooo.gif Got on the ice at 2 and was off by 4 and home by dark with a limit of some very healthy crappies. Smallest ones were 10" even up to 12"! Enjoying a few beers and some fresh crappie for dinner tonight!!!!!

Heading out with salmonspanker tomorrow afternoon to a different spot to get a few more crappies and maybe a walleye or two!

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
