Delk?

Recommended Posts

Didn't see the story, but it's all the talk around here. One guy got to see it said it was all white with extra long hair and tall spikes. Weird. Oh, and yes it is an escapee from a ranch.

That's the talk anyways.

Found it, here is the link: (kstp. com)

This is not a whitetail-elk hybrid. It's a red deer-elk hybrid. Red deer, native to Europe, and elk are closely enough related, same genus
Cervus
, that they can be hybridized.

If it's a Delk, it was likely released to feed the Sasquatch's that have been previously released (check another post). I only saw one picture and it looks like either a red or sika deer. Probably a red deer. Either way, I can bet my future lottery winnings it's not a delk!

I have seen the picture and heard the story, or anyhow the story of a friend of a fiend. The guy saw the deer deer/Elk/Red Deer whatever two days before season go into his dads corn field. They did not pick the field and called the DNR to ask if it was ok to shoot the "thing". He got the go ahead and on opening day of second season he got it. I am telling you it looks like the devils child!! Pure white, long wavy hair, and long I mean long spikes!! Some pegin churck is missing their god!!

The "Delk" was shot by a good friend of mine. I saw it on Saturday night. Quite a site!! The DNR told him it was a deer/elk cross originally from a game farm near New Richland but it and another one escaped from a farm near Delavan. The DNR CO picked it up on Sunday but he's hoping to get the head back to mount it. There is also a link on the KAAL TV 6 site.
