I am going to upgrade one of my Chain on stands to something much more comfortable. It is a Cheap Gorilla and is the most un comfortable Chain on I have ever used. What is recomended. At this stand sight A chain on is the only choice.

Climber is not an option?? I used a Lone Wolf Alpha last week and WOW!! I could of sat all day. They are about $329.00 though. In a desperation for a climber I bought the Gorilla Wolverine from Wal-Mart for $75.00 on sale. The same stand was $150.00 at Gander ON SALE. It is no comparison to the Lone Wolf but man is it comfortabel and it climbs with ease! For the price it is awesome. Hopefully you can go to a climber, that is the way to go.

I already have a summit cliber that I use for public land, ripley etc... This stand will be on private land that I can keep up year round. I am not worried about ease of hanging. but comfort. Gander has some guide series that look nice, and I have also looked at the Rivers edge. Is there something else I should be looking at. Are the lone wolfs comfortable? or are they all in the ease of hang.

If you're looking for top quality and all day comfort, get the Millenium M-100 hang on stand. You won't find a more comfortable, easy to hang tand. All day sits are no problem. I can't believe how fast the time goes when I'm sitting in this stand. It's like sitting in a super comfy lawn chair.

I have both the Lone Wolf Alpha and the Lone Wolf Millenium. The millenium is a more comfortable stand and roomier. I fold the seat back down to double up the cushion for the toosh. I feel any of the Lone Wolf stands will be extremly quiet and I feel are the best hang-on out there right now. (But I'm always on the lookout for a better mouse trap!)

I was at Cabella's last week and they had a stand that was super comfortable. It had a black mesh seat that was much like a lawn chair. Definitley an all day sit type stand. I was considering it, but preferred a tad bigger platform.

My original intention was a Loggy Bayou Monarch XL - pro staff, but I questioned the foot rest quality and the bar under the padding of the seat seemed it would dig into the back of my legs by the end of the day.

Good Luck!

I have both the lone wolf hang-on and lone wolf sit and climb. /first time using the sit and climb I shot a doe. very comfortably once you get situated right, took me a few times to figure out what exactly to do but now I am up that tree so quick. The hang-on I have is the first hang-on I ever bought and couldn't be happier. rock solid once its on the tree. one gripe about it is the seat is a little too small but I think an aftermarket foam cushion might help that.

NO CHAINS! Unless you are prehanging before the season. No matter how hard you try, you can't avoid making unnatural noises while putting up/taking down.

It took me three years before I sprung for a Lone Wolf Alpha, but as a mobile hunter, there is nothing better! I have 5 other stands of various makes and models, but the Lone Wolf goes with me everywhere! cool.gif

$180 at Cabela's.

I own 6 portables, 3 are ladders, 2 hang-ons, & 1 climber. None of them cost more that $100. They aren't the most comfortable, but I usually don't sit more than 3-4 hours at a time & having more stands is the key for me. I almost exclusively hunt private land though, but I've put up my $50 chain on portable, climbed in the stand, & seen deer the same night.

I like my River's Edge for the price, but I wish it had a better pad. I could feel the crossbars through the pad.

My Lone Wolf Alpha is my new favorite. I can sit for 5-6hrs easily. You can adjust the angel of the platform and for the seat so you are always level or if you like to lean back you can do that too. I find a tree with a backwards lean and set up. Now I'm in a recliner!!

Its also super quiet, user-friendly and light!!
