Mounted Camera on Bow Stabalizer Check it out!!!!!!

As a wedding present we were given a really nice digital camera that has video capability.

The light bulb went off and i made a mount for it on my bow.

Screws onto the front of my stabalizer. I took the following video on thursday and i didnt use the best quality possible. So, you live and learn.

When you watch it fast forward a little over half way because i started taping when i saw the deer. They meandered a little.

The doe weighed 115lbs Ran 40 yards stopped and fell over double lung hit.

Hey now, I was only shaking when they were walking up because i had to hold the bow at my hip and try to film.

I will take a picure in a mirror of the setup tonight, but it was pretty simple. I bought a cheap short camo stabalizer at walmart. Drilled a hole just smaller than the bolt that i needed. Tapped it into the plastic by just screwing it in and then cut the bolt head off, turned it over and screwed it in. Screw the camera on and start taping.

That's really SWEET! I have a ?, does it throw off your shot at all, did you need to make any adjustments to your shot, or pins?

I'm wondering if this is something a guy can do on the fly, or if you need to readjust a lot before taking it to the field.

Seriously the total time i put into it was 6 minutes. THat includes hacksawing the bolt off.

THe only things i might do yet is epoxy the bolt in and use a lock washer to tighten the camera on better.

I put it on and shot at my block and had no problem. the camera is well below the arrow as you can see in the movie.

Doesnt effect shot flight at all.

I actually tried this with and old camera 3 years ago. and just strapped it to my bow but had no deer come out that night.

Mess with your camera a little. Make sure all sound is off. Turn off startup sound and everything.

When you turn it on make sure you have it all set to tape. I will be buying a larger memory card. My 1 gig gives me 13 minutes at the high quality.

I cant wait for people to start posting hunting videos. Just remember to hit record.

I believe that there are products on the market that do this already.

I just actually never saw one.

Tried it out with both of my digital cameras last night. One's a 5.0 and the other a 6.1 megapixel. My 5.0 on hi res only allows for a 4 second video and on low res allows up to 80. Obviously a 4 second window is worthless and with low res a 20 yard shot makes it so the target is a blob on the screen. I then tried my 6.1 and that seems to be a lot better on clairity and allows for a nice long video, but every single time I take the shot the "shock" shuts the camera off and the video clip is not saved. I'm going to try and dampen the 6.1 tonight and give it another try. I'm not giving up THAT easily.
