Morning or Evening?

So when do you prefer to be out chasing walleye? Mornings or evenings??

All day. I catch more during the prime hours but there are more hours inbetween where I can catch fish (which I do).

I don't like to get up early, so definitely evening.

Year round i would say i have had my best luck in the evening especially during the summer. Spring and fall they seem to bite most of the day usually.

Maybe I should reword my question...if you only had one choice between morning and evening hours, when is your preferred time to be out to have the most success?

Evening. You can get out there before it starts, get you lines set up and keep fishing into the night. Evening gets my vote.

Definatly mornings! I like to be on the water at or before sunrise and quit before it gets hot and the water maggots come out. If the fishing is good it gives me all day to fish otherwise I get my honey do list done at home and get to go fishing the next day.

The biggest downfall is I have to keep my bait on hand and fresh. Not too many baitshops open at 4:30 a.m. in my neck of the woods.

I have had better luck in the evening/ night. I like to get out about 3pm, and fish intil 11pm. If you cant catch them in those hours, try a different lake

I prefer mornings... However, I have caught my biggest walleyes during the hot afternoon summer dog days.

Definately evenings, 1/2 hour before sunset to 1/2 hour after, last week of september - 1st week of October.

Although I like fishing evenings better during the ice season, mornings can be great since not many guys go out and you don't have to worry about people setting up on top of you as much. I like mornings in the summer time.
