harvey lee
This will be another tough race to pick for the Fantasy leaque. One never knows when and where and also who will be wrecked in the big one.
VMS
I've been looking forward to this race just to see how these cars are going to react in the pack. Will the "slingshot" reappear? Will the cars be able to stay "hooked up" as well as the previous style? How will the cars respond in "dirty air?"Toto is DEFINITELY glad we're not in Kansas Anymore...Steve

polarsusd81
Well it is a 500 mile race so make sure you don't pick a DEI driver. I think it will be a great race and my buddy and I will be racing back from Mille Lacs to watch it.
VMS
Quote: COT and restrictor.... I will agree with the (hoover, grand coulee, ford, glen canyon...which ever one you choose) restrictor plate, everything is slowed on passing, but the car is bigger and the front end more blunt... COULD we be so lucky to see some slingshotting, even though it might not be a quick? Might be interesting to see how the bump drafting goes as well.. harvey lee
I might venture to say we will see a group of bunched up cars and a real big accident. Lets put them all under one big blanket and some time later pull it off and see how many are left.
HOF#13
Quite the prediction Harvey....or should I say "Nostradamus"... It will be interesting to see. Of course, there will be the big accident, but I'm anxious to see how the COT does handling wise. With the way the front end of these COT cars line up with the rear bumper I am guessing there could be a lot more "bump drafting" going on than some people are comfortable with. lawdog
Not only a lot of bumping, but the drivers, to a man, were not happy with the inability to see anything in these cars when they were in the pack drafting at the test. They said due to the height and the way the wing is above the deck, that you can't see through the car ahead of you which they used to be able to do. I'm afraid that means that they won't be able to see anything happening ahead of them as quickly which might make the inevitable 20 car pile up a 30 car wreck. This is gonna be wild... harvey lee
Another prediction, I will have 3 of my 4 Fantasy leaque cars crashed out in one of the two big ones. Sound positive dont I. Restrictor plate races stink.

HOF#13
Your right lawdog, I forgot about the lack of vision the driver's were complaining about. That certainly won't help at all.
LMITOUT
Would the Toyota teams please wake up and come back to reality please?? They qualified very well.....all the go or go-home drivers did. Why? Because they qualified in qualifying trim, not race trim like everyone else. That's fine and dandy, but please stop trying to sell it as if they are great teams and they've really accomplished something. Hogwash. They pulled the same garbage at the last restrictor plate race. The other part that irks me is the announcers try as hard as they can not to call them out on it and let it go on like these teams are ready to go for the win in the race tomorrow. Good luck with that....

Only 1 big one? yea right. With all these rookies and no-namers in the top 10, all I know is the Big One will be quicker than we think. Oh, and also whats up with what I am hearing that Toyota has something like 85 more horsepower than everyone else. Is there truth to that?
lawdog
Can't possibly be 85 horse different in a plate race. These guys work in 1/2 to 1 horsepower gains on these restricted motors and spent months and $$$$$$$$$$$ getting those.Oh by the way, when will we see Kurt Bush's 100 point penalty and 6 week crew chief suspension handed down for this pre race inspection failure at this COT race???????????? LMITOUT
I doubt it since the car was too low...same as Edwards, although that is an advantage at a track like this. Still, not related to the COT body which has been where the big fines come into play. Hey, I'm no Busch fan (either one) but if they don't rule the same as the Edwards case, then I'll have to bring my Magnadoodle picture back again.
