I have a BPS and I've never really liked it. Jams a lot and has not been reliable. Difficult (at least for me) to break apart and clean. I love the feel of it and as a lefty, bottom eject is great. I've taken it to a gunsmith several times and had it completely gone over and cleaned but it still will jam. No matter what loads I use.

On the other hand I have a older remington 1100 auto that I've used and abused and it has never let me down. My kid has a Nova I've used on occasion. He loves it, I hate it.

I've had one since 1986 and every year I swear that I'll get rid of it but haven't yet. When I get the scratch to buy a decent non-Browning semi, I'll dump my BPS as fast as I can. Like previously posted, it takes 3 hands to clean the darn thing so I've been paying to get it cleaned every year. It shoots okay but I just don't like the gun. I just shot a Benelli pump yesterday and it was sweet.

I have both and 870 supermag and a 3.5 BPS...I prefer and BPS over the 870, basically for fitting purposes. The BPS with the 26" barrel just feels fight and mounts fast for me. The only complaint that I have with the BPS is that I cannot shoot Drylok. I have shot every other kind of ammo out there, but for some reason my BPS hates Drylok with a passion. Nothing but great things to say about the BPS, or the 870 for that matter.

I have two...a 12 and a 20. The 12 gauge I purchased in 1984 (mine has the little single shot, multiple shot lever in front of the eject). It does not have the nice engraving that the following models did. Primarily chose it for the interchangeable choke tubes (fairly new concept around that time..and the top tang safety with bottom eject (yep...I'm a "southpaw")

I had troubles with mine Jamming when I first started shooting it, but that was due to my size (I was 14 at the time and not fully grown, so I didn't get the fore-end all the way up and locked before I would shoot again. Since then, it has been flawless. Great gun, but if I had one critical thing to say about it...it's heavier than most out there.

I'm currently looking to change my 20 out, though...That gun will be my nephew's in a few years, so I am looking for a good Ithaca 37 in 20 gauge with the corncob fore-end. Nice and light, bottom eject too...

I have a BPS. It is servicable, but it is not my favorite gun and I don't use it for regular duty anymore. Hard to clean, will jam (unexcusable for a pump), and is heavy. My gun didn't fit me very well either. I also am not a fan having to use my thumb on the safety, rather than my trigger finger like an 870 or Nova (I own both of those as well).
