No doubt. It would have been helpful for them not to play the best team in the Big 10 right off the bat...

Wisconsin is about the only team that could compete with LSU/Bama right now. They looked flawless last night.

Huskers will be a force in the Big 10 in the future, plus I don't think they will lay down this season any. Big learning curve, going from playing K-State and the likes to Michigan, OSU, etc.

Well I'm glad the first season is over in the Big 10. Good year as far as record is concerned, but needs improvement. Think the self discipline on the part of the defense needs some work but the Iowa game was spot on as were some of the others. Need more consistency is all. Go Big Red!!!

I'm pleased with the way the season went, but man does that NW game hurt. With all of the injuries they had to deal with on defense, I think Bo and Carl did a pretty good job. Taylor really seems to be coming into his own too. It's hard not to be impressed with his decision making. And Rex, well there isn't much to say other than wow. That kid s a workhorse!

On a side note - Has anyone heard a rumor that Carl is headed off to find a head coaching job?

Well it sounds like the SEC is the media fave again. The ESPN guys said that the fans wanted LSU/Okie State but no,no,no, gotta have a Bama rematch. In my opinion they don't deserve it as much and not sure they are even a better team. Should at least have a conf. championship to play for the title game but blah, blah, blah. If any other conference ever had any support it would be a miracle. Now we'll see if the Nebraska girls can beat a Spurrier team again! That ought to be interesting.

I think the program will take a few steps back here and there. I think they still have a few years before they finish in the top 5. Oh well, they are way better than the Calahan years.

Any last minute predictions for the noon game?

That is a tough call. Everytime they do that, the program steps back years, then the populace gets restless and wants something new, turning into a vicious, winless cycle. That being said, I would think he better put a Big 10 championship in the books in the next two years or he will suffer that same fate.

I just think the talent isn't there. QB is inconsistent. As fast as that guy is, his arm is a "Division II" arm at best. I do think Martinez will be better as time goes on, but they better have some receivers that can catch what he's throwing.

RB, as good as that guy was the last couple of years, wasn't what that program needed to go to the higher levels. No dig on that guy (Burkhead), because he is like God in this state, but I was thinking a (trouble-less Lawrence Phillips style) RB is what they need.

As far as the "D", I think they will have the talent in the future. I'm not sold on the current coordinator...but who the 'hay' is going to fire that guy? Best case scenario is he picks up a head coaching gig somewhere, using his brother's name as his best reference.

My $.02

They looked pretty tough. The defense still needs a lot of help, but overall it's something that I think they'll build off of. T-mart really had a great day. I'm glad the media will stay off of his back for at least a week. He deserves it, as he obviously worked hard this off-season.

Not much in terms of new information out there on Burkhead right now. I imagine more will surface Tuesday. Initial reports out of NU are that it's just a knee sprain of some type. Bo didn't seem to think it was going to be anything long term. You just don't want to see your stud RB go down like that in the first game of the year. On the bright side though, our running backs are STACKED. Did you see that Cross kid? Unreal. 225lb's of pure muscle. He reminds me of a young Jerome Bettis. I feel there are good things on the horizon for the Big Red.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
