First I always get reamed for saying it and I am a Gordon fan but I think it was a mistake for Rick Hendrick to let Kyle Busch go.

As he gets older I think that he will prove to be a better driver and have more wins than JR.

I think he will have a good showing in the chase. Along with his brother Kurt.

I would agree with you that over that Kyle could have more wins and be a more successful driver than JR, and I am a huge JR fan. However, Hendrick will make millions upon millions more with JR just in sponsor deals and stuff like that.

ding ding ding: we have a winner folks. It has absolutely nothing to do with more wins or who's a better driver; it's all about the $$$$. Jr is worth so much more to hendrick in sponsor dollars than Kyle, that it doesn't matter if he wins or not. hendrick is just being a good business man.

Mears is buddies with Gordon and Johnson and Kyle never really messed personality wise with the big 2 in the organization.

I agree with Papa and also would think that Jr might be a better fit with the Hendrick gang.

I feel that Jr is going to be a huge plus for Hendrick to have him on there team. This just means there is 3 drivers that will be a great shot for the title. Jr is a pro, and for me, i would rather have him then busch.

This is a wait and see situation to me...

JJ has made it pretty clear in various short interviews that with Jr coming over, he's not all that happy about it. Probably not quite a perfect quote, but JJ did say for Taledega..."I don't know...maybe they won't throw beer cans at us on the track anymore"

I just have a suspicion that when JJ's contract is up, he'll go elsewhere...(and from what I perceive JJ's attitude to be) due to having to compete for spotlight time with someone named Earnhardt. It's a guess more than anything, but from my perspective, I just don't see JJ liking it too much...

As for Kyle, to be honest, the kid can drive the wheels off the car (literally at times too). Honestly, I feel Kyle is a much more talented driver than Jr... He just needs to learn a bit more about when to press, and when to be patient. I would not be surprised if Kyle wins a championchip before Jr. Heck...it would almost be funny if Kyle did it this year.

I would agree, though, that the deal with Jr coming over is a huge money winner for Hendrick.. He's going to have to sink a bunch of money into that team to make sure Jr is winning..otherwise I think he will be criticized for bringing Jr in.
