OUTDOORNUT
I would have thought there would have been some ruffled feathers from the Gibbs fans?!
Harmonica Bear
I thought the same thing and was about to make a post. There has to be a ton of money involved if you ask me (not that anybody was ). I also think it will be intersting to see what happenes to Tony. I can't imagine you'd want to be in the shop with him if your cars are not competive. Also I just can't see him wanting to be around if he can not compete for championships. Then again, give Toyota some top-tier talent and maybe the competitive balance is a little more even. It'll be intersting that's for sure.
LMITOUT
I think people are tired of the way NASCAR is heading and really don't care anymore. First Toyota enters an American sport, then Jr., the All-American boy and hands-down fan favorite, leaves his father's company to join the enemy, terrible TV coverage with NBC/TBS, and now this among other things. I'm losing interest in NASCAR more and more, although I still like it, just not as much as I used to. Brian France is running the sport into the ground. OUTDOORNUT
I was kind of thinking along those same lines Limitout. With every year getting craizier with the silly seasons it is almost seeming like a Soup Opera.
harvey lee
Thats what NASCAR is geeting to be is a big soap opera. Who can even keep track of all the changes. Looks to be there isnt much for loyalty anymore. The day of a driver staying with a team for years seems to be out the window.
Sifty
Well said by you all.It really seems to be getting to be like Tom said a big soapopray.Sifty
lawdog
I think the year couldn't be going much better. First Jr. Joins Hendrick and the rednecks gulp... Then "Smoke" the supposedly new guy like Dale goes to Yota... Now if only Rousch would switch to Chevy's this year would be about perfect for me!!! harvey lee
If Rousch switches to Yota I would be shocked but, I have been shocked many times before. One cannot discount anything anymore.
OUTDOORNUT
I knew you were a closet Roush fan Dawg! Jack declared war on Toyota in Daytona and everyone laughed. I know the Chevy camp could stand to lose a team or two, but they took Stewart, Hamlin, Busch and Yeley (now at HOF for 2008) who is also going to Toyota with Gibbs. That has to hurt the bow tie camp a tad.
VMS
going to be interesting how this one plays out... Tony is contracted under chevy yet... Also, do you see Tony and Kyle getting along very well?I'm guessing Tony will be in the market for a new team soon...Steve
Juneau4
It's all become a DOLLAR game, the same as any other major sport. Give me the bucks and I don't care if it says FORD, CHEVY,OR TOYOTA OR HONDA.
Double D
Next we'll see Mark Martin in a Kia, Bill Elliott in a Volkswagen, and Dale Jarrett in a Hyundai.DD

HOF#13
Definately a "Silly Season" to remember.I can't believe that Tony Stewart is remotely happy about the switch to Toyota. Consistently running for a championship with GM, and now switching to Toyota. Obviously, he won't run near as bad as Waltrip has, but he has to be thinking he won't be near as competitive next year. LMITOUT
Chevy, Dodge, Ford, Yota...it really doesn't matter anymore since they've removed the identities of these cars with the COT. They're essentially a carbon copy of each other (IROC) with the exception of different motors. Thanks NASCAR for ruining the sport all to "make it fair". Well, run what you brung and you better bring enough to win, IMO, instead of the sanctioning body doing the homework for you to help level the field. blah. They've taken out all the things I found fun about Nascar. Carbon copy cars and drivers, with a few exceptions, are all that's left. BORING! HOF#13
I agree with you to a point. However, if they are all so similar and it doesn't really matter don't you think Waltrip and Dale Jarrett would have run a little better than they have this year? How much fun would it be to see a race where each team could do whatever they wanted to a car, without changing the outside appearance of the car (so it looks stock), to make them run as fast and as good as they can? I mean anything and everything under the body and frame are all fair game to be tinkered with. I think it would be kind of fun. You know there is some awesome technology they could throw in there.
