Mens Outdoors and Dish Network

Double D

Recommended Posts

I'm a Dish Network subscriber and if I am going to watch a hunting or fishing show I always turned on Mens Outdoors and Recreation channel. I tried last night, lo and behold they say it is no longer available on Dish. I flip up and about 4 other channels were taken off, although they were none I ever watched (shop at home channels).

Anybody know why they just disappeared?

The Media Group (TMG) is currently involved in contract negotiations with DISH Network, and as a result, DISH Network has removed eight of TMG’s channels from its lineup, including Men’s Outdoors & Recreation and Beauty & Fashion channels. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes our customers, and we are in active negotiations to restore these channels. Viewers can still enjoy our original programming and enthusiast shows on DIRECTV, Time Warner Cable and other select regional cable TV networks.

I dissagree Ozzie. I've gone from comcrap to directv. I went back to comcrap because they had a package deal for $99 and they had dvr's coming. After a year they hiked the price and it wasn't worth it. Picture is way better on dish that cable. Mine on my house goes out maybe two or three times a year. Most of the time it's for 10 minutes or less. We have basic cable because with comcrap if you want the cable modem and don't have cable it's $10 more, but if you buy the $8 basic cable (for the rest of my rooms) you save two bucks. Just another way of the monopoly stickin' it to you. Give me more choices on cable companies and I might go back. Customer service for me is 10 better with directv then I ever had with cable. My .02 cents anyhow.

He does have a good point on Dishnetworks customer service its the worst, I have both Direct Tv and Dishnetwork and Direct TV is much better in that Department.

If your losing your satellite signal in the wind the dish is not mounted or aligned correctly.

I have a buddy that had some issues with Dish Network. He asked for a supervisor each time and ended up getting a free DVR out of the deal. Just an idea. I may have to try that myself. Is Dish ever going to get the Sportsmans Channel? We have a new phone/cable/internet provider coming here that provides the Sportsmans Channel, plus The Outdoor Channel in HD. Guess what I will be doing after it is up and running?

Out in the country where you have no other option Dish is great. Just pony up the $1.99 a month and get the outdoor channel. The channel that's being discussed wasn't that great anway. Half the time it wasn't even hunting or fishing.

yeah that channel wasn't the greatest outdoor channel....but on the dish going out when it is windy or stormy they said this is typical......we have had to replace the main reciever 3times in the last 2 months because the fan runs 24/7.....so I have had to set-up 3 recievers and since we are not land lined we have to call and let's just say it is hard to get a person that A: knows what they are talking about and B: is patient to work with you.........I am in the country so this is one of the few options I have and if this reciever goes bad I might look elsewhere......oh well
