Juan Grande
I was out on the family pontoon this weekend and my Gander Guide Series IM7 got stepped on and snapped in half. Does anyone know if Gander has a lifetime warranty on their Guide Series rods?
0 MedicineMan
Yup, just bring it in to Gander and they should replace it for free. I broke a Gander rod I had a few years ago and they replaced it with no questions asked.
0 Surface Tension
Do you think Gander should replace a rod you stepped on?
0 hoggs222
From what I was told from the guy at Gander, you can step on it right in front of them and they have no ?'s asked.

0 CrappieAttitude
I am not completely sure about a lifetime warrenty. I know that they will definately provide a 1 year warrenty with their stuff. I am not sure however that if you brought in one of the original guide series rods today (that obviously was quite a few years old) you might not get it replaced. If you do, great, but I wouldn't bet the farm on an older model.CA
0 Cliff Wagenbach
Gander has always been great about replacement of their products! No matter what the cause of breakage! I would be very supprised if the do not replace the rod for you. Cliff
0 Juan Grande
Yeah, I realize it sounds kind of dumb since the rod wasn't defective or anything. I guess that's one of the perks of buying a little nicer rod vs. a $10 cheapie, you can get a replacement if you have an accident.
0 icehousebob
I had two Guide Series rods that had the tips snapped off, both my fault. I walked into Gander and asked whether they sold new tip eyelets. The guy behind the counter walked to the rack and handed me two new rods. No reciept, no questions, no idea on how long I had owned them. Good people. 0 Down Deep
As an experiment, when you take it back tell them you stepped on it. Then repost and tell us what Gander's policy is.
0 slipperybob
They'll want good customer service rating and replace it for you!Although I admit it's hard to find a helpful rep in GM sometimes.
0 Ufatz
Hey fellas! Amidst the rosy glow of all these FREE rods I think it fair to point out that the reason for all this largess on the part of rod companies is the fact that they sell them for just about TEN times what it costs to make and market them! Rod prices were a lot lower before the days of FREE rods for any reason. In the Old Days, way before Ipods, if you were dumb enough or unlucky enough to break a rod you took responsibility and bought another one. Now the companies charge outrageous prices for a rod but GIVE you a new one with a smile. And roll around on the floor laughing all night while they count their coin. It won't change boys, but you aren't getting a FREE rod. The REST of us paid for it. Ha!
