I've still got lots of room to upgrade. If it happens, it happens. Flatheads over 30lbs aren't a dime a dozen so it'll be interesting to see if luck is on my side the remainder of the summer.

Never did ban the word, just said I was going to puke my guts out if I kept seeing it. LOL!

Somewhere along the line, I wonder where this contest lost its "fun". I go out and fish, if Mr. Big eats, he eats and I get a great experience. If it happens to be significantly larger than the last one I caught, cool, I'll remember to take a pic of the control item and enter the fish in the fun contest. Thats what its about for me.

Same with the BP Cat League. Cripes, I fished the league all last summer and caught one flathead cat. I had a blast and probably finished dead last in the league if we were keeping score. For some stupid reason, I just couldn't catch a flattie on league nights. That streaks continuing this year as well.

Thats my beef with "upgrade".

If I wanted serious competition all the time, I'd go bass fishing or something. I'm allowed to say bass in here, aren't I?

It wasn't meant to be "serious" competition. Same goes for the BPCL. Just a good excuse to get out and try to better your PB for the year. I'd be fishing either way, but for me it's "fun" getting out with new people and trying new things, and the contest has been a gateway for myself and others to meet new people and fish different areas. Could they done it anyway, of course, would they have, maybe not.

That's why I thought a gathering of the group would be a blast and I hope it works out for everyone and it happens...we'll see.....

Has worked great for me as I have fished with 7 new people. Its been a great time for myself and all who I have fished with.

I am the biggest degenerate angler there is!

I mostly all the time set up, organize, provide equipment and gas to get out and I come home with the goose egg. I have been on a slow streek for about a month now and have set my fishing to the side (well just a little) and have at times felt slightly frustrated.

Like I have said in past, after a goose egg weekend, I come into work on Monday. I look at my computer, slowly turn it on. Then I come back a little while later and check the posting's. After that I am making plans or wishing of making plans to get back out.

It is just all in the game of fishing!!!!

Soon I will get a big one. It happens every year like this.

I know this has been drawn out a little and been said a million times now, but thanks DTRO. I think KOTC is a cool thing and am having fun beeing in it and hope to make it to your get together.

It is about the fun and fishing second (sounds quir) and Hanson I feel what you are saying.

Its been rough with the heat and Spawn. Things are slow and its a little bit of a.......... shall we say let down/slow down after the pre spawn bite. But I will tell you that things will start ramping up in the next couple weeks and things will look mighty different.

Hang in there Mates. There are some monsters to be hooked, and we're the group that is going to post the info.

Thanks LFC for the great even out on the water. We Did great. We boated 4. I caught 3 of the four. 1st one was a small channel and then LFC caught a small flat and then I caught a small but it is a good start to go with small channel that was 22 inches long and 12 inches in girth. Then I caught a nice Channel that was 30 inches long and 16 inches in girth. Which will put our team in 3rd if there are no up grades. I have 80 points to put on the board. I will ask dtro to post them for you guys.
