Gamma Line

There is some information on this site about gamma line but I think people have had more time to use it now. I'm looking into getting some, what do people using it think? What is the main difference between the copolymer and fluorocarbon? Are there applications where this line does not perform well?

I used it on all my spinning outfits last year and loved it..It does retain some memory but not terrible. The advantage I have found is what I used to use XL 10lb for I can use the 6lb Gamma and still be safe. I use it for mostly my jigging setups..It is not as invisible as the fluoro but not as much memory either..I am experimenting with the Suffix Elite now and in one outing for crappies I had some issues. Very low memory though..(the laker in my avatar came on 8# Gamma)

Gamma is all I use now. I put it on 2 of my reels a couple of years ago.. and last year went to all Gamma...

Its casts so much better and is tough!!!

the Coply/Floro debate is one that a book could be wrote about. The Floro is much more expensive about 3-5 times more expensive!... Its reflective index is very similar to water, so under water its near invisible. It stretches less than the coply, but is a bit stiffer. Floro sinks, and copoly floats. Flro is better with abriasion, and copoly is better at holding knots.

I use both for different situations!

All I use is Gamma. I use the Fluoro for Leaders. And the premium for everything from spinning to baitcast minus 1 or 2 rods with powerpro for slopping. Great line, very smaller diameter for the power. And the ratings of the lb test are much better to this versus other lines. Their 4lb breaks at 8.5lb........very nice.

Gamma's technology is very good. So good that Pure Fishing is racking there brains trying to match or find out how to compete with this technology. I used it last year and will have it on all my rods except for my muskie rods. It's so good they have a patent on there line so that alone must mean something. I was price shocked at first but if you look at the long term benefits it should gain you more life of the line and confidence of supperior knot strengh.

I can ditto everything said here. I have switched all my mono rods to Gamma. Very flexible and soft, yet very strong. I haven't experienced any problems with memory as some have mentioned.

This is great line!! I was an avid Trilene guy for years, until a friend of mine (Butch Furtman) introduced me to it. I have used it for two years now and continue to be impressed with its performance. It is stronger than standard mono and its castability is superb.

You can go to their web site and they can explain their technology process. This company has been around for a long time producing fly fishing products under the the label of "Frog Hair". They also produce the finest quality product for stringing tennis rackets. Professional tennis players use their product as the standard. Gamma knows how to produce quality products.

Try Gamma-- You won't be disappointed.

Well so far so good. The little bit I've used this line I really like it. I had to get a spool of each copoly and fluoro to compare them but haven't used enough yet to make a decision on which I like better.

Do you need to pick up the rebate form from the retail store? I checked online and it said something about filling out the "backside of this form" but I didn't see the backside of any form to fill out.
