I have been doing some looking into them... They seem like really nice rods and really light weight. Im looking for a new flipping stick and deep water jigs, they seem to have some good rods for what im looking for. I watch a video on bass fan about them. Im sure it is still one there if you wanted to watch it.

I got a few myself... The magnesium senko special and a 6'6" MH LTA spinning rod. Kistler makes a very nice rod.

Gander in Maplewood will order them for you. We've already ordered a few this spring. Maplewood might start carrying select kistler rods in the near future.

IKE, No magnesium. But like Ralph pointed out they name the different rod series after lightweight elements... magnesium, Helium LTA (lighter than air)...

If you havnt looked into Kistlers take a second their rods have some innovative designs. The hook hangers are neat, you dont have to unrig a weedless plastic for it to work. They got rid of the cork infront of the reel seat for added sensitivity and lower weight. They also have split grip handle for lower weight and added sensitivity.

I havnt been able to test out my magnesium much yet except some pitching in the backyard. It seems to have a faster than average tip for casting unweighted baits (senkos, flukes, tubes) but still has the MH backbone. The rod itself is only rated for up to 5/8 oz. I believe.

Jimbo80,

I use Kistler rods exclusively and have a pretty good selection which you are welcome to check out anytime. They are awesome rods, incredibly light and sensitive. I will be at the Sportshow Friday working the FlaMinn Lures booth if you want to stop by & chat.

how are Setyr rods better??

Just mho but when I pick up a Kistler it doesn't "feel" right, there bigger blanks then Im used to, I also think (I dont have hard evidence to back it up) that there lighter and more sensitive, they also have a great selection, either spinning or casting. This is all just my opinion though, but I would definetley check out both before you buy!

I have a 7ft LTA casting rod. Its a sweet rod, but if youre very picky about components, (some people are), keep in mind Kistler does NOT use Fuji guides or reel seats. I believe they use Baston. I suggest look at Powell rods. Top of the line components for a cheaper price.
