Purchased bibs from Walleye Dan this year. Getting the coat next year. Love em. Warm and dry. Only regret is that the season is about over and I have to put them away. A big thanks to Walleye Dan.

Hi Guys,

You are welcome, and I thank you for believing in this product. When I first put the suit on in November, I thought it was the real deal. I then jumped into the icy waters of Gull lake (along with the regional rep) and we both floated without any doubt. I was then even more impressed. After that, it was the everyday grind of my guiding business and fish house rental business. It held up great through it all. Yesterday was probably the best testamonial of all, when I layed on the ice for about 4 hours catching crappies and some pretty nice sunnies too. I have fished this way in the spring for many years (looking down the hole) and normally I get soaked one way or another. At the end of the day, I smelled like a fish but I was dry and alive! We are excited for the new season. IDI Gear has a great line of hunting clothes along with the Arctic Armor. My wife and I are going to take on the distributor role along with our retail sales. Please let us know if you would like a set, they are "hot" and will be even hotter next year. Perfect for open water fishing early and late too.

Talk to you later,

Walleyedan

I don't believe so as far as the features go, but there will be a new color pattern coming out this summer/late fall. Is there something you think the suit needs? I would like to hear from all of you if there is anything you think would make the suit better.

Thanks,

Walleyedan

Walleye Dan:

The only feature I would like to see are a couple of pockets in the bib part of the bib that a guy could put his hands in when out on the ice without gloves on catching fish like mad. Pockets above the waist on the bib part would be good for me. Just a thought.

Agree with Puddleduck. And maybe handwarmer pockets behind the main pockets on the front.

And make the leg hole zippers go a bit higher. Also put D rings on the bibs, to either attach plier-lanyards, or a kill switch clip if boating in early season and not wearing the jacket (which does have the D-rings already.

I love mine though, and will be wearing it this weekend out crappie fishing from the boat smile.gif

Again, thanks for all your kind words and feedback on our Arctic Armor suits. When people ask whether our suit works, I send them directly to this forum. I check here regularly to see comments on how we can improve going forward. I just have one question: Why are the Crappies in Pittsburgh 1/2 the size of the ones I see pictured here? lol

Maybe our arms are twice as long. tongue.gif

So far the Artic Armor has performed flawlessly. I could have asked for anything more at this point. I think my wife may get a set for next winter as she been pretty envious thus far. laugh.gif

I've been emailing with Dan about getting a suit..

Hey, how warm do you guys think you could wear these suits? I know I want a set for ice fishing but I also need something for early season open water fishing. Just wondering if I could kill two birds...

Joel,

I have had a number of suits and The Artic Armor is by far the best suit I have owned. Its extremely light weight, totally wind resistant, and above all water proof.

When I am drilling two hundred holes every thursday for the ice house rentals and my pants legs never get wet thats saying something.

THIS IS NO SALES PITCH! When I am guiding and am hunting for fish there is no other suit I want as my fishing partner than Artic Armor. Very comfortable and above warm. my snowmobile suit ran me $600.00, four years ago. My Artic Armor was half the price.

Fish On!!!

I had a chance to check out the camo (duck blind) Arctic Armor today and it looks as nice as I had expected. It is very sharp. I can take orders, but I won't expect the order to come in until September. The suit is going to be ideal for waterfowlers, late season bow hunters as well as fishermen/women. We will have extra small this year too (in both colors). Still waiting on gloves, I will post once they are in.

I have been very interested in getting one of these suits...but was never a big fan of the color red. I am interested in the camo. What pattern is it? is there a chance they may make these suits in a Mossy Oak or Real Tree Hardwoods..etc.? Thanks.

Follow-up: I see on I.D.I's web-site that they do make hunting cloths....but it appears they only use one layer of insulation in these particular jackets/bibs..etc. I noticed the Arctic Armor fishing suit uses three layers of insulation....so my question is ....is there plans on making a fishing suit in the above mentioned camo patterns?

I didnt even know Mossy Oak made such a pattern....I checked out their web-site...I see its new for 2007. I was sorta looking for something more for deer (late season bow) hunting...

Thank you for answering my question....I have a feeling that I will be getting one of these in the future...gotta run the purchase past the boss smirk.gif.

Take care

Cliffy.

They are made in Indonesia. We have sold a lot of Arctic Armor suits over the last 5 months. They were a new product on the market this spring, but I think you can see that we have made a very positive impact amongst the people that own a set. We are now distributors of IDI Gear (which includes Arctic Armor). We are continuing to sell at retail as well. The new Mossy Oak Duck Blind suit is going to sell, big time. I'm sorry to go on and on. You are probably an XXL. Let me know if you would like to order.

Happy Easter,

Walleyedan

  • Your Responses - Share & Have Fun :)

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
